[The Champions have had their first deliberate murders this week, and just like that, Prompto and Lunafreya are gone. Slaine followed them shortly after, however most people may feel about that.

This time, C.E.C.E.'s addition to the morning announcement probably doesn't come as much of a surprise:]

Congratulations, Champions! By surviving your second trial, you have unlocked the third floor of the ship. A new mini map has been added to your P.I.P.! To access the second floor please stand on the teleporter and select the floor you wish to be teleported to.

[In addition to the new floor, the Champions will find that they've gained another memory this week.]

Art....Therapy?

[This isn't actually written on the art therapy wall. It's a sketchbook that's been left outside Jamie's door at some point today, empty except for a drawing of Kaiba on the first page. Written below it is a question:]

Hey, weird question, you know Yu-gi-oh the TV show?

[It's unsigned, but who around here draws people other than Max really?]

Nooooooot really. I mean, I'm a corpse. Ya can't get what is already cold, cold.

[He comes to hover over the paintings, checking out the sunrise one in particular.]

Nah, it's cool. I opened up a little caricature booth out on the boardwalk. Turns out that profile was right about my job after all.

[he finds himself drawn back to the same place: this is nowhere near home, but the sounds of birds are- familiar, if not really comforting. it's better than the persistent machine hums and teenagers shouting, and positions himself on the other side of the coop to listen to the pigeons. there's something almost metaphorical here, if he wants to pull it out, but he really doesn't. he wants to be silent, but he catches Manaka's eye as if to say "I can leave".]

Yes. We were going a little stir crazy after a few weeks with only a few random rooms. [Well, he was.] Every time we successfully survive a trial, a new floor appears. Like a gift. 'Well done, Champions.'

And they're diverse on every level, no one unifying theme, to try and give something for everyone. A little bit of use, like a sewing room of some sort. And more potential ways to kill someone, like the trash compactor.

Godddddd. [Max makes a scornful noise.] All of space and time, and the best portrait artist ever's some schmuck from Florida? Sounds like bullshit to me.

It happens far more often than anyone should want it to. Remind me someday to tell you about the king of Atlantis who stole souls with card games in order to fuel an apocalyptic leviathan. [better yet don't that was a weird storyline]

This is my patented duel disk--or a terrible facsimile thereof. You don't need a table and playmat to play Duel Monsters with it. You can duel anywhere, and with the use of my Solid Vision system at play, realistic holographic representations of the cards and monsters appear before your very eyes, much like this. I'm constantly trying to improve the system, but this model has been incredibly popular.

I think so? I was a little old to watch it but I remember the merchandising being e v e r y w h e r e.

Same deal, but I remember the marketing pretty okay and I'm like 95% sure Kaiba told me that he literally knows this guy in real life

You could either take pride that someone thought you were the best, period, or you could lament that someone made a mistake because this whole thing is a farce. Besides, you could be the champion of something worse. [Like himself! Or...Karamatsu...]
