first trial
[With the announcement, the Champions are free to decide amongst themselves what order the groups leave in. Once that's done the process of teleporting is automatic and happens in the blink of an eye. Once second they're in the center of the cafeteria before a soft blue light surrounds them and then they're standing in the middle of a circle of podiums.
The room itself it the same shiny, chrome-covered atrocity as most of the rest of the ship save for the sections of floor that aren't the teleporter: those are thick clear glass that show nothing but empty space and stars beneath the Champions' feet. As for the podiums they're the same sort of garish chrome with a digital screen facing toward the center of the circle. The screens each have a name and title associated with a Champion written in green block letters, all save for Chloe Price, the Champion of Max Caulfield, Miki Naoki, the Champion Support and Chitose Karasuma, the Champion of Mediocrity. Theirs are a striking red and, floating above their podiums, are greyscale portraits framed in some kind of bold, mechanical-looking frame.
The Overseers are waiting when they all arrive, standing on a floating platform just high enough to be out of reach and back far enough toward a far wall to have a full view of the courtroom. Both are dressed well, Rox in a pressed grey dress jacket and skirt and Blaze in a black suit with the sleeves rolled up to expose his numerous tattoos.Rox is again the one who speaks up.]
Welcome, Champions, to the courtroom! Twenty of you have entered, but - in the best case scenario - only nineteen of you will leave. The goal here is to compile the evidence that you've gathered and figure out who the killer is. Once you think you have an answer, we'll call a vote where you'll use the podium in front of you to vote on the title of the Champion who you all agree has broken the peace. If you're correct, the culprit will be executed and the rest of you will be allowed to go back upstairs. If you're wrong, however, the killer goes free and the rest of you take the punishment in their place.
There's no time limit, but we reserve the right to call for a vote if things drag on too long. Now let the first trial begin!

But Lucina... seems to be calming it... him?... down. Yeah, give him... just a bit.
Whatever just happened, he looks just as confused as everyone else.
And then...
Then he glows again, stumbling forward as he does. And on the ground is a shaking, pale, and terrified looking Tsurugi.]
no subject
[COMING FORWARD TO HELP YOU SIT UP]
Are you alright? Y-You...transformed...
no subject
[He's, uh... He's doing his best to be together, but he is failing miserably.]
It...
It was... me?
no subject
no subject
[But that's just a quiet aside to himself. If... if it's just Tsurugi, he'll let Lucina handle this.]
no subject
It's... This is... It's just not possible. I'm just me, how could I be a Worm?
no subject
[Just, hands pressed to her mouth in absolute horror. She remembers what Tsurugi told her about the Worms, they sounded more like some terrible new version of the Grimm than anything else.]
no subject
It was me... [He's suddenly realized. If he's a Worm... not just any Worm, but that Worm...] I killed her.
[And as he says it he sounds... drained.]
no subject
[You don't sound like you mean Miki.]
Or- no. Oh, no! Mister Tsurugi-
no subject
[He can't.
He can't. How can he call her his sister when... when...]
Mika...
no subject
[look he doesnt wanna say he told you so but]

no subject
I already said this to you earlier, but... Why don't you do something more useful to the group and stay quiet?
[Somehow, the complete lack of emotion in Manaka's voice makes her sound more contemptuous.]
no subject
Unless you have a better idea as to some alternative?
[He is...very very upset.
Tsurugi was his friend.]

You said--you had mentioned they're good at imitating other people. If you are one, then somehow, somehow you think you are Tsurugi? Corrupted memories...?
no subject
[But he knows it has to be true, because it literally JUST HAPPENED.]
H-How could I kill someone and just forget about it?
no subject
no subject
Then I... Then not just here, but even before all of this... I killed my-- [...] I killed her...
no subject
Then how long? How long have you been some alien creature somehow...mixed up as Tsurugi? Are you--is he, the real one, is he dead then?
(no subject)
no subject
But...no, wait...Tsurugi, you're a human - does it not say so on your profile? How could you be a sort of worm...?
no subject
Worms, they... they're a species that mimics humans. [...] Perfectly.
[Perfect enough to count as human, it seems. So long as they stay human.]
no subject
[She is still going to stand by him, but...oh no. This is...no. This is even worse than what happened to her...]
no subject
It has to be. It is. [And for the first time since everything started blowing up, he sounds sure of something.] I thought... I thought it couldn't be, since there's no way anyone here could be one, but...
Worms... they bleed purple...
no subject
[Her head lowers. She had so badly wanted retribution for Miki. To pull someone who had done wrong without remorse with her into the embrace of death. Not...this.]
You had no idea of yourself - of any of this. C-Can you truly be held responsible if you didn't...?
