[It's your first week here, and you've been offered a fantastic prize for killing someone: an all-expense paid vacation! It's a pretty standard prize as far as reality game shows go.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), this isn't exactly a game show.

It seems that no one has died this weekend, and the deadline for the prize is now expired. There's no announcement from the Overseers to that effect; in fact, none of you have seen either of them since Tuesday. Maybe they'll make a reappearance soon, but for now, it seems that you've got a moment of peace.

Yeah. Ignis is, like... okay, you really can't tell anyone I said this or he's going to fillet me for dinner, even if I'm in outer space. But Iggy's totally our mom.

[Somewhere, in the threatening distance: I've come up with a new recipeh!]

For years, he's done all the cooking and most of the cleaning and usually drives because Noct's too busy sleeping even though it's his dad's car, and he's crazy smart and there's nothing he can't do. But he should try to lighten up more often or he's gonna get wrinkles before he's thirty.

[stillstands]

[She raises a hand in a solemn promise.]

I won't tell.

[And then she laughs, as she's told more about Ignis and what he's like.]

Kinda sounds like Yuuri-senpai -- except we have Yuki-senpai to keep us smiling, so I can't imagine her getting wrinkles every. She does a lot of the cooking, and keeping track of things the club needs. She's very responsible.

Does she make really bad puns when she's in a good mood?

[Congratulations, Prompto. You just broke Miki?]

... ... I... haven't heard her make a pun before, no?

Okay, then I guess we don't have to worry about them being long-lost siblings, estranged by time and space. Or, like. Clones.

[Prompto...]

[stillstands]

[The nightmare.]

I don't even think that would be possible...

[And then she chuckles.] But I couldn't imagine Yuuri-senpai as anything other than a big-sister sort of person. She's very gentle and caring, but firm when she needs to be.

Yeah. Iggy's... you know, Iggy, but I know he's like that because he cares.

[Prompto trails off after a moment, thinking, then sighs.]

I hope he's okay. He, uh. He was hurt pretty badly a few days ago. I know Gladio'll look after him, but...

[stillstands]

[Oh.

Miki goes a little quiet after that. While she was here, what was happening to Kurumi... would anyone manage to get her the medicine in Miki's stead...?]

... You didn't get to see how he was doing before, well. [She waves a hand around the area, vaguely.] All this happened?

We were all... together. [He can't say they were all safe.] But he wasn't healed up yet, so I don't. Really know how bad it's gonna be.

[A second passes, and he sighs.]

Can't really do anything about it from here, though. One worry at a time. Right?

[stillstands]

[... So were they. When Kurumi had run back, hurt and they were about to lose her, and could any of them kill each other if they had too? None of them had been able to answer that... not properly...

Miki rubs her eye with the heel of her hand and frowns.]

Save ourselves, and then save the people who need us?

Exactly.

[After a pause, he reaches over and gently ruffles her hair.]

It's what they'd want, too.

[He has to believe that.]

[stillstands]

[She squeak!!!

And then, once his hand has gone, tentatively pats her hair back down again. Oh no casual affection to the once-touch-starved. What do??]

... yeah. Yeah, I want to be the one to help my friends this time. Not the other way around.
