PEACE WEEKEND
[It's your first week here, and you've been offered a fantastic prize for killing someone: an all-expense paid vacation! It's a pretty standard prize as far as reality game shows go.
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), this isn't exactly a game show.
It seems that no one has died this weekend, and the deadline for the prize is now expired. There's no announcement from the Overseers to that effect; in fact, none of you have seen either of them since Tuesday. Maybe they'll make a reappearance soon, but for now, it seems that you've got a moment of peace.
Hopefully nothing happens to it.]

Prompto blinks at the drawing when she slides it over, then smiles, grateful and a little sad before pulling the paper all the way over to draw a doodle of his own. He's no artist, but he ends up with three beautiful boys, one dark and spiky, one slim and refined, and one... well, he's half-Dorito, half-stick figure, and all rugged mohawk.
Prompto draws a sad Pocket Prompto off to one side, fills the space between them with stars and prison bars, and passes it back over--but then he leans over hurriedly and scrawls beneath it:]
But I'll be okay!
[And he shoots double finger-pistols at her. He's fine!]

Then she leans over and starts scribbling again. When the people makes it's way back over to Prompto, she's ... done a fair bit of doodling.
Firstly, there's a little arrow pointing at the rugged-mohawk-cornchip man with a little question next to it: Behemoth?
Immediately underneath it, she's added to the picture Prompto drew. There are now three girls underneath the picture; one with dark hair in pigtails and a wide grin, brandishing what looks like a shovel; one with long dark hair and a gentle smile, and a much smaller girl with a cat hat and short hair. She's also drawn another girl, but she's quite far away from all of the others, and isn't even drawn facing forwards.
Next to Prompto, she's drawn a little cartoon of herself, tucked into the space prison alongside him.]
Don't lie.
[Because not knowing what's happened to her friends, whether they're okay or whether they're trapped somewhere like she is... it's terrifying. She's used to being scared, and she's even used to being alone but she'd forgotten after spending time with the club. She didn't want to go back to that, but now here she is. Alone but surrounded by people. And she's scared again. She hates it, but she can't say it because she's forgotten how to let it all out.
She wonders if Prompto's the same.]

In answer, Prompto scoots his chair over until it bumps right up against hers, close enough almost for their arms to touch. He slides the paper between them on the table so she can see what she draws as he draws it. First, a little crown above the dark-haired one's head. Fire and steaming dishes around the one with glasses. Next to Behemoth Boy goes a sword almost as big as he is. Just underneath their feet, Prompto writes their names.]
Noct.
IggyIgnis. Gladio(lus).[He taps his pencil against his mouth, then after a moment, gives Noct a fishing rod--obviously, because there's a fish on it--and a tent and a campfire on their other side. There. That's what his friends are.
He looks down at her half of the picture, at the girls. He draws an arrow to them as well, close to the girl with the cat-eared hat.]
Friends?

There are so many little details added, and she can just see his friends come to life in front of her eyes. A crown - for royalty? She never would've expected Prompto to know someone royal... but from the way he obviously misses them, they must be close. She wonders what he's like. And the friend with the glasses must be a good cook... a chef? And Behemoth with his equally huge sword... and their names. Noct, Ignis, Gladio...
When he pauses, and writes a prompt on her paper, she takes up her pencil again. Pulling the paper a little closer, she starts drawing. First, she writes 'Friends.' and then starts adding her own details: names go under each girl, Kurumi-senpai. Yuuri-senpai. Yuki-senpai. Kurumi gets a little shovel drawn next to her, and a pair of little stick legs flailing like they're running. Yuuri gets some cooking equipment and notebooks drawn next to her, and the added text 'Club president', and Yuki... Yuki gets some little flowers and sparkles, an open comic book and a little backpack with wings attached to it. Underneath, she adds one last thing: The School-Life Club.
And then Kei. Her pencil hovers over the paper for a moment, before she starts drawing. "Kei. Best friend.", and a book, and a music player and finally a little sketch of her and Miki stood side by side, looking happy.]
... I miss them a lot.

He swallows and nods and answers.]
Me too.
[Out loud, he says:]
Tell me about them?
no subject
I... where do you want me to start?
[One of the corners tears a little under her nail, and immediately folds her hands to stop fiddling with it.]
What if I tell you something about my friends, and you tell me about yours? One for one?
no subject
Yeah, that's fair. I mean, I can start, too, if you want me to. I didn't mean to put you on the spot.
[Like a show host, if show hosts were quiet and understated and about a thousand percent less showy, Prompto twirls his hand and gestures to his friends.]
What will your pleasure be, Miss Miki?
no subject
After a moment, she points at the little cartoon with the crown perched on his head; finger tip tapping lightly at it.]
This one - his name is Noct?
no subject
[After a moment, he draws another speech bubble by Noctis's head and writes "ZZzz" in it, turning his little dot eyes into slumbering lines instead.]
He's a sleepyhead. I used to cover for him when he fell asleep in class. Heh, I guess even the prince could get in trouble sometimes.
no subject
So he is royalty then. You went to the same school as a prince?!
[Don't throw that at her and expect her not to be surprised, Prompto.]
no subject
More like the prince went to the same school as me. I guess he just wanted the chance to be, like a normal kid? And His Majesty must've thought it was a good idea, since he let him.
HECK i thought i replied
[Still, she'd said one for one so she looks down at her own drawing thoughtfully.]
Who do you want to hear about?
It's cool it's cool
[After a pause, he points to Kei. Miki's best friend.]
She's the only one who isn't a -senpai. That means something, right?
this is already hurting me
Miki just... stares at the little scribble of Kei in the corner of the paper.]
--Yeah, she's my best friend. [She sounds fond, but it's undeniably sad at the same time.] I haven't seen her in a long time now. I miss her a lot.
Pain is the name of the game
[Bummer. Maybe they ended up at different schools.]
What's she like? I bet she's smart like you.
no subject
[Even at her lowest, she was able to leave that room and at least try to escape the mall. Miki... hadn't been able to do that for such a long time afterwards. If she hadn't heard the club in the mall, what would've happened?
Would she have just died in that room, eventually?]
Kei's a good friend.
no subject
After a moment, he smiles kindly and taps Dorito Man.]
Then she sounds a little like Gladio. I know I've said some things about him, but really, he's fearless and strong. And he really gets people in a way none of the rest of us really do. He's like... our rock.
[Unshakable, even if it means they clash sometimes. Even if it means none of them can get through his anger.]
He has a little sister, too. Fifteen, a real force of nature. I bet she and Kei would get along.
no subject
[Miki leans over and points at Kurumi. Kei is a... tentative subject. She has no idea if Kei is even alive.]
-- that sounds like Kurumi-senpai to me. She's brave too, but more proactive. She takes risks so that we don't have to. Maybe we rely on her a bit too much but... she's a always energetic and reliable.
[And then she focuses back on what Prompto said.]
Oh, he's a big brother? He looks like he'd be overprotective.
no subject
[He pencils in a girl with a big smile and a tartan skirt next to Gladio. She is exceedingly tiny, probably to squeeze in next to all that meat. Surely siblings born of the same parents would not exhibit such a crazy size disparity. Perish the thought.]
But with the rest of us... he pushes, especially with Noct. Wants us to do our best, be strong enough not to need him. I think he takes it too far sometimes, but Iggy... Iggy usually knows when to stop him.
no subject
"Iggy" is... this one? [she taps her finger against the bespectacled one, surrounded with the cooking utensils.]
He looks like he's responsible. Especially if you've got someone with you who doesn't know when to hold back.
[... They sound a lot like Kurumi and Yuuri. Almost painfully so. One pushing herself and everyone to the point of recklessness, and one willing to drag them and everyone else back to earth with a bump.]
no subject
[Somewhere, in the threatening distance: I've come up with a new recipeh!]
For years, he's done all the cooking and most of the cleaning and usually drives because Noct's too busy sleeping even though it's his dad's car, and he's crazy smart and there's nothing he can't do. But he should try to lighten up more often or he's gonna get wrinkles before he's thirty.
no subject
I won't tell.
[And then she laughs, as she's told more about Ignis and what he's like.]
Kinda sounds like Yuuri-senpai -- except we have Yuki-senpai to keep us smiling, so I can't imagine her getting wrinkles every. She does a lot of the cooking, and keeping track of things the club needs. She's very responsible.

[Congratulations, Prompto. You just broke Miki?]
... ... I... haven't heard her make a pun before, no?
