Week 1

[After the initial introduction of the Overseers, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Blaze Dudely and Rox came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.

On Wednesday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot.

What were you planning on doing to the equipment? Pretend you wouldn't get shocked or anything.

Are you so convinced someone is going to come after you over a vacation, or be so desperate to get out of here in that fashion that you feel the need to hide in your room?

Yes. Not to the vacation, but the second part.

Maybe not now. But eventually something's going to give.

...Eventually, yes. [Yuugi would say something something working together something something faith in your friends trust in your deck but in this place, there are not friends yet, he doesn't really want to work together, and he doesn't have his deck and thus can't just duel his way out.

Rest assured, he's going to challenge Petuu to a duel at some point. But in the meantime:] Then your plan is to hide in your room until the rest of us whittle the numbers down and you're the one left standing?

[ kaiba calling him out, damn. there's no power of friendship in yuri on ice but yuri could probably use yuugi right about now ]

Is there a problem with that?

The problem is that it's stupid. Even ignoring how cowardly an act that would be, and how it's not going to get anyone, even yourself, any closer to finding answers and getting out of here, what happens when we've killed all but one off? Someone's going to be left standing, and then it's just you and them. And you'll have to come out of your room sometime.

[ fuck. kaiba....he has a point? to leave everyone except one left; yuri would have to face them eventually. and if he wanted to get out, he'd have to kill them.

could he really do something like that? ]

So what? You think I should start walking among people who might kill me?

It might make you less of a target. It would show potential killers that you aren't afraid of them, that you aren't going to be easy pickings once the dust has settled. Or they might think you're just as capable of taking them out as you think they are.

Most have the potential for violence in them. And everyone has a breaking point. But murder is not something to be taken lightly, and I think everyone here knows that. If anyone here might die, it should be those that put us here, not one another.

Hmph. Guess we'll just wait and see what happens.

It does seem to be a waiting game. And we're going to run out of patience eventually if our watchful Overseers don't show their faces again.

You'll get bored playing by yourself eventually anyway, but at the very least you could see what other games you could take to play solo other than a deck of cards.

I run a game company. I make games and improve upon existing ones, and I'm one of the top competitors in one of the most popular card games published in recent memory. I'd foolishly thought that some of those cards might be in here, but a little slice of home seems too much to ask for.

...Oh. So like children's card games and stuff.

Card games, video games, an assortment. I've been working extensively on holographic technology and realistic simulations to bring games to life, so to speak.

Huh. That actually sounds kind of cool.

So you've got things like monsters and wizards in your lineup, yeah? You could probably get in some good research while you're here.

I wish I could say I actually created cards for Duel Monsters, but that's another company altogether. But VR games for the future? Absolutely.

Something like this setup alone would make an interesting horror-type game. Something along the lines of an escape room. But that's not my specialty. I still might hand the idea over to one of the departments to look into. [he might regret this suggestion once people start dying but for now shh]

I was talking more about being able to talk to people who actually have superpowers, but that works too, I guess?
