Week 1

[After the initial introduction of the Overseers, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Blaze Dudely and Rox came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.

On Wednesday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot.

If one believes this to be a VR, a simulation of some kind, then the day-night cycle might be arbitrary. A day here might be an hour or two out there. It's possible.

I have. There's no current way to definitively prove it, but it's my firm belief that we've all had our minds uploaded into a computer program for this...Champion Excellence game of theirs.

If this were a normal game with safety systems in place, I would be inclined to say yes. But we know nothing about this place, and given the shocks, I doubt there's any concern for our safety at all.

I very much doubt we're safe. [IF YOU DIE IN THE GAME YOU DIE FOR REAL etc] If previous experience is anything to go by.

Twice, although one was a game with safety systems turned off, and one was a virtual world not meant to be a game. [It's a long and personal story he's not gonna get into thanks.] Just as dangerous, however.

...Were you going to try and see what happens if someone dies? Lose a life, use a continue, appear back where you were before?

I wish I could say they were simply NPCs programmed into the world to show up, give some answers, and never be seen again. It could be they're in here willingly, though. Behind all this.

[He's definitely not thinking about two people who really want fresh bodies to jump into. Nope.]

They can't just leave us here like this. There's not enough.

Waiting for us to get antsy and stab each other...over a fucking vacation.

Rules imply they'll be here more. "Violence against the Overseers." So why won't they just come the fuck out?

Another test, possibly. Psychological. 'What can we offer to make someone murder another?'

[He can hear Gozaburo's voice for just an instant. Losing is death. And now that's especially true here. But surely that means there are ways to win, ways other than stooping so low?]

Maybe they're afraid for their own lives, despite the rules. They come out at a designated time, entice us with something else, disappear and monitor us.

They better be afraid. I hope they're pissing themselves with it, in whatever cozy space bungalow they're hiding out in.

[That's a look of approval right there.] We can only hope. They're going to learn that kidnapping and enticing murder aren't going to end well for them.

How'd you break out last time? Gimme some advice here to kick their asses.

The first time, I beat the game. [...Kaiba.] With some help from acquaintances and some deception. Working around the rules without breaking them. But in essence, beating the game. Which may not be helpful here.

The last time was...much more of a specialized case, and the person in control got us a way out before destroying the entire facility.

So in that case, we get on one of the Overseer's good sides and convince them to let us out, if the analogy holds. [But he sounds skeptical at best.]

...Yeah, fat chance at that. That smiley bitch probably doesn't even have a good side.

We absolutely can't trust her in the slightest. Dudely seems less interested in being here; if nothing else, we might be able to get more out of him if we separate him from his master. But I still wouldn't rely on that alone.

Guy with that cool a name shouldn't be completely fuckin' evil to begin with. ...Shit, I just wanna punch that smug smile off her prissy lil' face.

...Well, you can't stay here all day and mope about it. [Technically, she could, until she needs to sleep. Hm.] Run some laps, take a shower, eat or drink something. Feel slightly more human. Keeping up the kind of anger we have for these captors takes more energy than it seems like on the surface.

I'm not moping. [ She says this a little harsher than she would've liked but eh. ] I'm just...taking a break from screaming my lungs out.

...If I don't try and get their attention somehow, I feel like I'm gonna explode. Not being angry feels worse.

Just don't burn yourself out too quickly and use up all that anger at once.
