Week 1

[After the initial introduction of the Overseers, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Blaze Dudely and Rox came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.

On Wednesday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot.

It is quite charming, I agree! And I would bet that there are even more books just like it.

Do you read books often, Lucina-san?

Not as often as I'd like. There used to be so many more when I was a child...but most books have been destroyed or lost since then. My friends and I are lucky to find magic tomes where we can.

[She may want to take some time to read up on things while she's in the past...that would be wonderful, if she can afford to do so.]

I am very glad my education hasn't gone to waste, in coming here.

Magic tomes?

Is magic a common thing where you are from?

It is! There are a few different kinds, though I've never been proficient in any. There's healing magic, which uses staves, and then tome-based magic. The elements it uses are Fire, Thunder, Wind, and then there are Dark magic tomes.

[Karamatsu decides, then, to finally have a seat while they talk so he's not just awkwardly hovering over her.]

That is fascinating. I know my home does not quite have magic, though we are friends with a doctor who knows how to make medicines that do many unusual things.

What do you usually use the non-healing magic for? Fighting?

Yes, that's right. Fire, Thunder, and Wind are common for that. Dark is...not something Ylisse practices in, at least, not publicly. Dark Mages were, more often than not, always from Plegia.

[There's a tinge of sourness in her voice when she says the country's name, but not...outright hatred or anything. Just. Mm. Just a bit of bruising.]

[Ah. Some of these words go right over Karamatsu's head...but he's listening to everything she's telling him with the same interest regardless.]

So Dark magic...it is taboo to use?

Not taboo, not per say. It's...more associated with malevolent forces who seek to do harm for harm's sake.

[Boy. That sounds like something right out of a fairy tale. Better not tell her about Akumatsu, then.]

My...well, I am unsurprised to hear that you do not dabble with such magic.

[Haha well she wouldn't...judge per say, at least one of her friends has a Dark Mage parent.]

Well...I don't have much aptitude for any magic. I'm better off with my sword than with any tomes.

Yes! I...don't have Falchion with me, but, I've been training to use it for most of my life.

[karappo]

Falchion...is that the name of your sword?

[That's so cool...maybe he should name his guitar.]

[Yes, 100% go for it, Karaboy.]

It is. It's existed for thousands of years, and will continue on for thousands more...but it is very particular about who can wield it. Unless the blade deems you worthy, it won't cut anything.

[Except maybe like. An apple. But why would you use a legendary sword to cut apples are you daft?]

Aaah...an enchanted sword, then.

You must consider yourself very fortunate to be worthy of such a blade!

I do. My father wielded it before me, and then very few of his ancestors further still...but it was of course used by the Hero King.

[Kara do you want to be told about the Fire Emblems.]

The Hero King?

Yes - the Hero King Marth. He was able to overthrow the Shadow Dragon to reclaim his kingdom, and restored peace to an entire continent by uniting it after a great war, all with Falchion at his side. Whatever was known about him as a person was lost to time, but after my father, I would most like to follow his example/

How...how incredible! It is hard for me to fathom one's reasoning for wanting to bring you here, Lucina-san...you are truly to be a force to be reckoned with.

Ah...I wouldn't say that. I've hardly done anything yet...

I would be nowhere without the help of my friends.

Working alongside your comrades is just as honorable, if not moreso. And I am sure what you do is very dangerous...so you must be very brave.

I wouldn't call it brave. I'd call it a necessity...but, thank you. Your words are very kind.
