Week 1

[After the initial introduction of the Overseers, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Blaze Dudely and Rox came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.

On Wednesday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot.

[Miki takes a bite of her food and chews it almost thoughtfully. It tastes... well. It tastes. It's a bit like canned food, any honestly, that's better than cereal and hard tack any day. It's also the sort of food she's used to.]

[well, she's turned on the stove and she's making her ravioli. since SOMEONE won't share]

[Are you kidding her there's loads in there? Says the girl who hasn't seen tonnes of food in ages.]

I think it's built to supply you with energy though? Pasta and carbohydrate based meals give you more energy and keep you fuller for longer.

You probably don't need much.

[There's no way Korra will learn vital reheating-bagged-food skills if Miki does it all for her!!]

[she's not being sarcastic, let it be noted. korra is Sincere]

No...? I read the information in the box. Each full meal is listed with a calorie count.

[Hang on, she's up from her seat again and digging around in the stuff Korra dropped everywhere for the paper information...]

Here. It tells you want makes up each meal. It's something like half your recommended daily count in one box.... [she's holding it out to you, Korra. Take the paper of wisdom.]

There's..... a lot of salt.]

I meant-- I've never thought that much about food! And all this information.

You've never read the nutritional information on food before?

[... She's definitely looking Korra up and down. Blessed you must be to eat whatever you want and not think about saturated fat content, oh Avatar.]

They don't even put this sort of stuff on food back home.

I've always just... had food provided to me. The first time I learned about paying for food was rough, let me tell you.

[stillstands]

[Oh.

... It's weird to think she'd kinda been similar? Living at home, cooking when she had to but with food that her family had purchased. She misses that.]

Sounds nice for you. Not having to worry about buying food, or where it's coming from.

Is it not like that where you're from?

[she recalls zombies being in her profile as a dislike-- and it's only after talking to Zombina that she could sort of imagine why.]

Depends. Some people have those worries their whole lives, regardless of financial situation. But normally, food is easy enough to come buy, but most people do buy it.

[She misses that.]

Oh... [she's still picking up on the worry part... but honestly, that might just be because she hasn't really had to worry about food, ever.]

Okay. I guess... food's never been one of those things I worry about, but I know that there are people who do. It's not like it was when I first left the compound. I've at least been able to see the world.

Not having to worry about food is good. It's one thing, but it's such a big one. You can't do much if you're lacking energy, after all.

[And there's something nice about knowing you can pull together a good meal. Something to look forward to.]

And I mean the compound I grew up on-- where I learned most of my bending. They kept me there to protect me from an organization called the Red Lotus, though a lot of good that did.

[Oh. Miki straightens up from where she was still crouched over the box, and brushes off the front of her unitard.]

You were hunted by someone?

[Being hunted is... certainly something she can empathise with.]

They're... I don't know how to describe it. But they're a secret organization, and I still don't entirely understand their motives.

A secret organisation?

[That sounds... oddly official.]

So you're someone important enough to have been targeted by an entire organisation. Are you royalty?

[It would make the whole 'never had to worry about food-slash-cook ever' thing mak a little more sense.]

[she doesn't think of herself as royalty... even though it's sort of true, now.]

My job is to bring balance to the world.

That doesn't mean a lot to me. What do you mean "bring balance to the world"? In what area, what field?
