Week 1

[After the initial introduction of the Overseers, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Blaze Dudely and Rox came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.

On Wednesday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot.

Enjoy your week, Champions.]

[Mostly he just comes by for the occasional hot food and a new cup of coffee. So Thomas the sensitive American cop bothering to talk to him at all is...unexpected. But many of these people certainly seem friendly.

Overly so.]

Busy trying to find something helpful in the library and finding a way out. [duh] ...Unfortunately, neither of these is panning out so far.

[Thomas already sees how driven Kaiba is, how little faith he seems to have in the people around him: but he's still sixteen even if he's the most "adult" kid that age has ever seen. He knows enough to look a little discouraged, even if he's already feeling fatalistic: they'll let them out when the show's over, whenever that happens.]

No success at all?

Not yet. Nobody else seems to have found much, either, but theories and vague ideas that we can't even act on yet.

I'm not going to give up yet, of course.

Theories? I thought it was clear we were on a game show, but besides that... [jeez he's not feeling confident here at all]

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-10-21 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
And you really think that's just what this is?

[personal profile] andjerry 2017-10-21 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I know that... There wouldn't be- [and he points to the infinite blackness through the window] if it was only a show.

It's some kind of sickening simulation, I just haven't decided if this is merely a psychological test or something even more to it yet.

What more is there? [he sits back and picks up what he was writing on; hey Kaiba, sit down and eat some food, relax, let him take notes]

[He will do one of these things. (Hint: it's letting Thomas take notes.)]

I'm convinced that this isn't real, so besides a psychological test, this can also be a test of the virtual system. How accurately our consciousnesses are uploaded, how cleanly the simulation runs. Beta testing.

And if it's a game show, something stitched together from camera footage, it'd be a really poor one. The populace can be into the crude and the crass, but this can't be all that exciting.

You don't think this is real. [he's never seen the entirety of Star Wars or The Matrix okay]

[personal profile] playthedamncard 2017-10-24 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
No. Virtual reality. Digital simulation. Our physical bodies are being kept somewhere, our minds uploaded into this space that they can create and alter at a whim.

...that's not possible. [look he knows he's from the country but you have to be kidding him]

Fully possible. I've experienced it myself.

Really? Was it like this?
