Week 1

[After the initial introduction of the Overseers, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Blaze Dudely and Rox came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.

On Wednesday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot.

I mean there are a bunch of movies, girl, I just picked this one because this guy I know likes it.

[ I can't believe James Cameron's Avatar is Lucina's first moviegoing experience. ]

The other ones have way less blue dudes. Usually. Unless you pick like the smurfs or something. All those little fuckers are blue as hell.

[Oh no, more things she doesn't know about. She's just gonna stare at this...stuff...for about ten seconds before coming a bit closer to where Roxy is seated.]

I...didn't know that sound came with them as well. Where does that come from?

Those li'l guys handle the sound stuff. You can record and mix sounds up together into a sick audio witch's brew and kinda just pipe it through there to match with the movie. It's not literally magic tho, but.

It might as well be to me...though, none I've ever thought could exist.

[All that sound comes from those boxes? How crazy is that? And it seems to match up perfectly with what's happening on the screen, too. Hmmmmm, what mysterious things this realm holds.]

Do...the people in the moving portrait know that this was made with them inside?

Oh yeah for sure. They're all paid to put in the performance that gets recorded. Or... okay, real talk, Avatar's a bad example since it's like 95 percent CG shit, but yeah they know. Get hella paid for it too.

"See-Gee"...and that means...parts of it aren't real? It's just a guess, but those blue people don't...they're interesting to look at, and their world is very beautiful, but when a person is alongside them, they don't...it doesn't fit together.

And computers are...like the devices on our arms, correct?

Yeah, but way more complicated and also way more useful in this case. And they're usually not part of you.

I...had a feeling that wasn't the norm. That woman, Miss Petuu, she had something in her hands, not in her arm. That would be...something like a computer, right? Or it could be.

Yeah, that's closer! I mean that's a small one, they come in a bunch of sizes, but that was def a proper computer in Worse Rox's hands.

[Yeah she'd rather not call her Rox out of respect for the awesome gal named Roxy who is 'splaining things to her.]

I wonder what that one can be used for...besides being read off of and stared at.

Hm... I don't know my space futuretech for sure, but probably at least communicating with other peeps and internet access. And solitaire, no way is solitaire gone even in whatever year this is.

Do you suppose...she seemed very focused on it, but, perhaps there is a time where she isn't paying much attention to it. Perhaps, if it can be used for communication...

Slight possible issue tho, girl's bound to have a password to keep that shit locked.

Computers can have passwords as well? That does complicate things...

I dunno how long her password on that thing is, but usually passwords for personal shit are personal things. Names, addresses, that kinda thing. No one wants to enter thirty characters to unlock their phone.

And it's doubtful her password is something she will easily say...or even indicate as her password at all. [Lucina sighs, frowning slightly.] Still...perhaps she is limited in what she can do to us without it. These PIPs, they can shock us, but if we don't tamper with them and she doesn't have a way to make them hurt us from afar, that could be enough to change things.
