Week 1

[After the initial introduction of the Overseers, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Blaze Dudely and Rox came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.

On Wednesday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot.

Long as you have an experienced Dungeon Master to bug about the complicated stuff? Hells yeah.

I haven't read half this shit, but I still did some baller games in my day.

Oh, so only the... what'd you call 'em? The Dungeon Master has to read everything? How much would I have to know to play?

Depends on the kind of game you're playing. A lot of what you learn actually comes from experience. You basically just have to know how to roll dice, add a few simple numbers, and about which class you want to play. The DM does the rest.

Iiii see! Okay, that sounds a lot simpler. So if I wanted to play, like, an ultra powerful wizard, I'd just have to tell that to whoever's running the thing and they'd help me?

If they're good and considerate. They help you pick spells, skills, all that fancy shit until you're good at it yourself.

That does sound fun. Like, I still don't understand how they're saying magic works at all, since that's so not how it works in real life, but it'd be so cool to be able to use spells on my own.

I think most of us, dude. Like, maybe it's real somewhere in my neck of the woods? But so far that's not part of the weird cornucopia that my life's morphing into.

Not having magic at all is what's weird to me. I mean, yeah, only two royal lines have it out of everybody on the planet? But so much important stuff depends on it. Like, we would've been overrun ages ago without King Regis and the Wall.

That last part just... What the hell's "the Wall?" King Regis, I can figure that one out, but. The Wall?

It's kind of what it sounds like. Big magic wall, keeps--kept bad things out of Insomnia until they found a different way in.

The Empire of Niflheim, mostly. Daemons, too. Insomnia was, like. The last really safe place on the planet until Niflheim fucked it all up.

Yup. Different countries, but we have some people in common.

[Noct, of course. Ardyn, unfortunately.]

Anyway, she's magic, too. So if I can get her back to my friends, things'll be at least a little bit less totally and completely awful.

But not before we help get all of us out. If I know anything about Lady Lunafreya, I know she'd insist; and I won't leave you guys in the lurch, either.
