Week 1

[After the initial introduction of the Overseers, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Blaze Dudely and Rox came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.

On Wednesday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot.

I don't think I've heard of ANY of these games before...

Really? Many of them are common, popular, or old, if not all of the above. [Normally he's not social, and he wouldn't even necessarily call this social, but he does straighten up, looking over the children's board games.] Surely you've at least heard of chess.

Yes, I have heard of chess! I think Mister Ironwood plays it sometimes.

[She looks back at some of the other board games available. ...There probably are a few basic ones she recognizes, but she's looking at the more specific ones.]

They don't have 'Remnant', though. ...The game, not my planet. Obviously they wouldn't have that here. The game is just named after it. Maybe some of these are similar, but named differently? Like how we come from so many different worlds but most of the people here are human.

...Hm. [He's still working that one out; he's not at a plot point that lends a lot of credence to the whole multiple worlds thing yet.] That's entirely possible. Similar games, different names. But you still have chess.

What about games with a simple deck of suited cards? Solitaire, gin rummy, war?

I haven't gotten to play them myself, but yes, I think so. 'Remnant' uses cards too, but those are specialized cards representing special maneuvers or abilities, or acts of nature.

...Would you be able to teach the rules to it without the game physically here?

Probably at least the basics? I don't think I could remember every card involved, though, there are a lot of them. But the basic unit types and rules for movement and attacking, I think so.

A board game with cards, yes!

[And then presumably she gives a basic rundown of the rules, cause fuck if we actually know. It's basically the unholy fusion of Risk and Yugioh Duel Monsters.]

Then it truly is a shame that the game isn't here to learn. I'd love to master it. [And trounce anyone who thought they could beat him!] Some of these here are downright archaic. But...better than no games at all. Take what we're given.
