Week 1

[After the initial introduction of the Overseers, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Blaze Dudely and Rox came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.

On Wednesday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot.

I just wanted to see what you were looking at. It's not like you're really intimidating anyway--and you still never told me what you're on the run for.

Well, I'd tell you, but it's not going to make a lot of sense if you still don't believe me about where I come from.

[Which he's at least calmed down about by now. Yesterday was a bad day for everyone.]

If you really want to know, though, I guess I'm kind of a... resistance fighter? I don't really know if that's the right term, but my friends and I have been helping my friend Noct collect weapons from the tombs of his ancestors and make deals with gods so he can take back the throne of Lucis from Niflheim's army. That's why I didn't want to say anything about it yesterday, I thought this was some kind of weird Imperial base.

Literally sounds like something straight out of a fantasy novel.

So you're on the run because you're stealing weapons? Is that what that's about?

Not really. Since it's his ancestors' tombs, their stuff belongs to Noct anyway, right? The Empire's more mad he's still alive in the first place, I think.

Uh, 'cause of the whole, he's the rightful king of Lucis and going to kick their asses and save the world thing. So they've kind of been hunting us since the Citadel fell. ...Especially once we started busting their bases.

So you were in the middle of all of that when you got pulled here?

[He laughs a little.]

Well, it's not mine the way it's Noct's. But yeah, I'd like to get out of here and back to helping him as soon as I can.

You guys are from the same world?

Uh-huh! Noct--my friend I've been telling you about--he's been in love with her since, like, forever. ...Uh, but she's super important to everyone else on Eos, too, so I've gotta do everything I can to make sure we can all back to where we came from safely.

[He shrugs and smooths his hair down in the back, glancing away.]

Like, if that helps you believe me more than it obviously just being the right thing to do.

I'd say you're lucky to have someone you know here with you, but it actually kind of sucks that she was brought here too, doesn't it?

[Suddenly somber, he rubs his arm awkwardly.]

It's, um. Better than thinking she was dead. So I'm actually really glad she's here, even if that's... I dunno, kind of selfish to think that way under the circumstances.

Well, yeah, but did you forget about Rule Seven? And how we basically don't have a way out?

We'll find something! Don't give up! There's a whole part of this ship we haven't seen yet. You know, where those two came from yesterday. If our tablet thingies won't open it, we just gotta sneak in after them next time they come out.

[quadjumps]

And what if we get caught?

Then...

[He trails off, and after a while, he realizes he doesn't have an answer to that. He winces and shakes his head.]

I guess we'd need a distraction or something to keep them busy.

[quadjumps]

There's security cameras all over the place. If they ever caught us, even after the fact?

We're dead.

[photoshooter]

That's... true.

[There goes the wind out of his sails. With an effort, though, he shakes his head and bears up.]

We can talk to the others. Someone's got to have a better idea. I'm so not our strategy guy, back home, and we've got plenty of smart people here.

[quadjumps]

It'd be a better idea if we could figure out how to disable the cameras. I'm no strategist but those things are gonna be our main obstacle.

Ooh. If we found the control room and managed to turn them off, it wouldn't count as tampering with or damaging them, right? Good idea, Yuri!

Sure I'm sure. Anyway, maybe we should share this with other people later and see what they think. Maybe someone can figure out how to make triple sure we don't get caught.
