Week 1

[After the initial introduction of the Overseers, the Champions were left to their own devices in investigating the part of the ship they have access to to their hearts' content. However, the doors that Blaze Dudely and Rox came through are locked tight and cannot be unlocked via PIP.

On Wednesday morning, the same voice that awakened them the previous morning chirps at them again from their PIPs at 7 am on the dot.

Yeah, I saw him messing with it earlier and freaked a bit at him. I mean, who knows if that's all these things can do? I told him that if he's gonna mess with one of these things, he should mess with mine. I don't really feel pain and can literally just rip the whole arm off if needed.

Yeah. They read our vitals, so they might be able to mess with them. Zap us 'til our hearts stop, inject drugs, who knows.

How closely do ya think they'll follow their rules. Like to the letter or in the spirit of them? 'Cause if it's the former, then we could probably get around a few with creative phrasing and a few dictionaries from the library to rub in their faces.

[he leans back on his chair, so far that he's balancing on two back legs with his feet hooked under the table. Staring at the ceiling, he takes a long few moments to seriously consider it.]

The other one... I don't know. She looks like she could kill one of us to make an example and not even look up.

Eh... I don't mind taking one for the team in all honesty. If they have found a way around my biology then it's probably not through reactivating my nerves. At least not all of them. Overall, I kinda doubt it since my hand got pulled off earlier, and I didn't feel shit. Aaaanyway, if I pull the arm with the thing off, then they probably can't shock me through it. If they somehow can anyway, then we've still gained information.

Yeah. Those eyes aren't ones ya wanna trust. But as long as we make sure we're dealing with him rather than Shark-chan, it might get us some info. Anything is better than nothing, and another rule says we're free to investigate, so as long as we don't break or alter the thing, we might slide by. Try and hide behind the investigation rule.

Think they do shifts or something? Like one keeps an eye on us for 12 hours and then they rotate?

Probably. Unless they have a staff we haven't seen. Either way, we have to figure out how we're monitored and where.

Any ideas on how ta figure that out? Y'know, besides lookin' fer cameras and stuff. Personally i'd hope the showers wouldn't have cameras in 'em, but that'd divide potential meetings into two groups, which'd be hella annoying. Buuut....

Rule 6-A might be troublesome, but if we call it decorating, then we could try making an area they can't see us if it really comes to it.

I've worked around cameras before, but...

[They were Cognitive cameras, he honestly didn't know if the real deal would be as easy to navigate. He lowers hsi voice, since well... this very conversation is likely being watched too]

I'll see what I can do, but for now I'm tapped for ideas. Testing our limits might be our best bet for now... then if that works, push it.

There's every possibility that it's an automated process. Design an AI intelligent enough to interpret the rules to whatever degree is specified, administer a punishment as necessary.

...dunno which is worse. An actual person getting off on this, or a machine that can only interpret things one way.

A person is much worse. Their ideas can change; their interpretations are inherently flawed. A computer can adapt but only within the parameters given to it. There's only so far it can deviate, if it deviates at all.

So we can out maneuver it. Theoretically.

Theoretically. It would, it seems, be too easy to give us access to an actual computer terminal, but if we can find a way to tap into the coding of this world without dying... [Listen one shock was bad enough, nobody should push their luck further.]

If we find a way, anything we do will have to be fast. They won't just let us play with their set up.

Zombina did say she's incapable of feeling pain, although who knows if they've managed to figure out a way to simulate it here.

Yeah. I don't want to risk them using more extreme measures to punish her unless we have no other option though.
