won't you take me to flavortown

[At the end of that one hour (that seemed so much longer than just one hour could be), hopefully everyone's gathered in the cafeteria. The doors to the other side of the space station open to reveal two figures, a man and a woman. The woman is dressed in sharp business clothes, tapping away on some kind of a device that looks similar to but sleeker than a smart phone. The man with her has a circle beard and bleached blond hair, shorter but thick with muscle, wearing a checked button-up shirt with a gold chain peeking through the collar and the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He scratches at his non-dominant forearm (which, nonetheless, is bare).]

Welcome, Champions, to the...

Champion Excellence Program.

Yeah, the Champion Excellence Program. As you may have noticed reading the rules, there's only one way out of here: Rule 7. But just in case going home isn't enough for you, we've decided to add an extra incentive.

[The woman barely looks up from her phone, like she's doing a headcount of the Champions.] The Champion who successfully proves their Excellence by murdering a fellow Champion and escaping punishment will receive an all-expenses-paid space cruise to the Vegas Quadrant.

[The man gives his companion a deadpan look and then looks at the Champions.]

Any questions?

[Ignoring the fact that Blaze Dudely is the dumbest name a single person has ever had, and he's met a lot of people with stupid-ass names...Blaze doesn't seem to be the one in control here. He seems like a stooge. His cohort, on the other hand? She seems like one of the suits that has forgotten how to be a person. It's a reason he doesn't bother trying to smile when it isn't genuine anymore. He'd probably scare people trying.

Kaiba's glare gets a dangerous glint, and he takes a few steps forward. He's used to owning any room he's in, whether metaphorically or literally, and he's not gonna stop now.]

Dudely. Petuu. Then allow me one more question.

Where is my brother?

[The flash of anger is swift, a fist raised in emphasis.]

If you or your bosses have laid a hand on him, if a single hair on his head is out of place, then I will make you all pay for it.

[Rox's smile stays firmly cemented on her face, her head tilted upward to make sure she can look him in the face. She's by far one of the shortest people in the room even in heels but her rod straight posture and the cool way she regards Kaiba's anger don't speak of a woman phased by imposing men.]

Mokuba Kaiba is as safe as he was when you last saw him. We haven't done a thing to him.

[Respectable. But it also makes her less trustworthy. She knows what she's doing, which means she knows plenty.]

When I get out of here--and rest assured, I will--if I find you out in a lie, I'll come for your head.

What is it you're after? A corporate takeover? Money? An illegal beta test of this world? What is it that you're getting out of this?

I'm sure you will. [She looks back down at her phone, idly skimming her finger down the screen while she talks.]

We nor our employers have any interest in your company or your money. Just you.

[You know what, that does not at all make him feel any better.] Because we are champions that are excellent in certain, arbitrary-sounding fields. [His title, for one. Prompto's and Karamatsu's.] And somehow we're to use that against one another, to either live or die to claim the ultimate title and leave?

I didn't sign up for this pseudo-psychological testing, virtual system or no, so your employers are in for a massive lawsuit when this is over.
