Final Investigation
[It's been about 24 hours since CT was killed. Blaze has made no other moves, and his robots are mysteriously absent.
In fact, it's almost too quiet.
But then there's a note in Pyrrha's PIP that...she didn't write.]

Other than being dusty, what's the state of the crib? Is there anything in there, or is it empty?
What I'm getting at is are there any signs of the crib having ever been used/used with care?]
no subject
It was used, but definitely not recently.]

Let's look at that teething ring, just because. Are there any teeth marks on it? If so, do they look relatively humanoid?]
no subject
but there's no weird, like, suction cup marks or shark-teeth shredding.]

If there's nothing else to find here, Varric's going to amble over to the computer. This is way more complicated than his PIP. Nonetheless, he presses a key.
Anything interesting popping up?]

The boy between them looks like a perfect mix between the two women, leaning more toward the brunette.]

If he drags the point-arrow thing on the screen over to a face and clicks on them, does anything happen? Because Varric is convinced that something is going to happen.
Mostly, though, he's looking for information on the boy.]

that's the desktop background.
There is a journaling function, though, we'll just say he clicks around enough to open that.
Most of the dates are standard day to day stuff - it all starts around 6960, and there's about 9 months worth of entries that probably go way too TMI into details about a pregnancy from the mother's perspective.]
Stardate 6963
The Captain’s been with that tentacle alien for 2 days. We’ve been leaving food outside his door and it's been disappearing so we know he’s eating but I’m worried. Sun says not to, it’s bad for the baby blah blah but what else am I supposed to do when I’m not allowed to do my job because of the baby???
Update: asked Rad to peek in on Captain Dudely. She just stared at me and started screaming. She may’ve already done it.
[Through this journal, you can find out a little about the boy! His mothers call him Sonsun and he was born at a chunky 10 lbs 9 ounces and his first word sparked a heated debate over whether it was "bite" or if it was supposed to be "pirate".]

[Whatever, weird. How far forward does the function go?
Actually, for that matter.
What does the last entry say?]
no subject
There's one last entry, dated in 6972:]
Captain, if you read this, I don't blame you. You did what you thought was best for us. Because you loved us.
I'm sorry we couldn't save you.
-Sun and Void

He has a really bad feeling about this.]

It ends with:]
I heard the Captain's got a mark in mind. A big one, might even be enough to fix Flavortown.
It's been 13 years since we left. Sounds too good to be true that one day I might see my boy making his own tracks in the dusty lots around the diners of Flavortown.
I'm in, Captain.

He takes some time typing the information into his PIP. When he's done, he makes an effort to minimize what's currently on the window. He managed to click on something on the main screen before, maybe he can look for anything else that might be useful on the desktop.]

Open it?]

His speech is moving, based on a platform of earnest civic reform and environmental clean-up. He references seismic activity that's recently become a concern and the energy that he's going to put toward determining the cause. And he references the fact that if he wins, he will serve proudly as Flavortown's youngest mayor.]

[Hmm. Can he pull that memory card out? He's technologically illiterate so he isn't going to fuck around with computer to find the eject function. You haven't lived until you have vital information on a flash drive and yank it out. Live life on the edge.
Once that's tucked away, he'll look around the desk for anything useful.]
no subject
Other than that, the desk doesn't really have anything useful. The people in this room took most of their sentimental items with them.]
no subject
Anything over there on that bed, or some interesting secrets beneath the mattress?]
