[When the announcement sounds and the evidence gathered it’s time for a trial. When the remaining champions are all gathered by the repaired docking bay doors they slide slowly slide open.

The two lines of sentry robots are there again, creating a border path from the docking bay doors to the circle of metal podiums. The podiums themselves were made of strange metals in red and gold and orange and black, each one etched with the name of one of the Champions. There are flood lights - like spot lights - in front of each podium. The lights on Diego, Kiss-Shot and Erika's podiums have been turned off and their floating grey scale portraits have joined the four from last week.

Blaze Dudely stands on a repair deck on top of his ship, which looms over the proceedings ominously. Rather than the glee the Champions may think he would take in this kind of display, he merely stands there with his arms crossed, expression unreadable and his cyborg eye scanning the Champions with a piercing scrutiny, like he's searching for one of them to act out of line.]

Mornin’, Champions. Here’s how this is goin’ to go: take the evidence ya found, piece together what happened and find who took out the Champion Detective and... [He pauses, running through Kiss-Shot's excessively long title in his head.] The vampire one. Founders, I regret giving her that title. If ya find them, they’ll be dealt with. If ya don’t, they’ll be free to go and the rest of ya will face punishment. Take the time ya need but don’t bore me.

Do we know Erika's blood was what in the bucket?

We know that it wasn't in her body, and I didn't find anywhere else that it could have been. And there was a lot of blood in that bucket.

What of the vampire?

She was also empty of blood.

Couldn't it have been the vampire's blood, then? The wound chart said there was a neck wound. It wouldn't have been much to hold her over the bucket. The small wounds on Erika's neck would have taken a long time for the body to drain.

The victim report said that Erika died from bloodloss, so it probably came from Kiss-Shot, who had taken it from Erika.

Yes, I'm not arguing that. I'm saying that it would be awkward for Kiss-Shot to have drained her and put it in a bucket.

Kiss-Shot isn't responsible for the bucket.

She told me that she can only be nourished if she drains an entire human - anything less won't do anything for her. It's why the blood bags have been left alone this whole week.

There's no reason for her to store blood for later, especially after having gone without for weeks. It'd just be a waste of blood to her.

So, then... What's with the blood storage? Did someone try to frame her for that?

...I don't know. It would certainly take a lot of time and effort to drain all that blood, so it can't have been done on a whim.

Irony or equal punishment, perhaps. Making a point.

They might have been making an example of Kiss-Shot.

If she was already dead, there is no need to store it. Unless there is, and, again, someone is being silent of their true nature.

Sight, but obviously none of you have that. [He thinks.] I don't suppose any of you has a cross or pure silver jewelry.

... Hang on, I think some of my earrings might be silver.

[Given that he's had them in since he got his peircings back, that probably means Leon is not a vampire.]
