[On the floor of the infirmary, there is a body lying in a pool of blood. Mako could be forgiven for thinking, at first, that its head had been entirely detached from the neck. But no - it's still clinging on by a thread, or perhaps just a particularly determined bit of muscle and tendon, twisted to one side so that it's sickeningly easy to see its face.
