[ CT doesn't join the others in the mess hall. She'd kept her silent vow to see things through, and had watched the recording of Diego's death without flinching away. Once it's over, though, she makes herself scares. She needs time to think, to process, and the last thing she wants is to have to deal with a bunch of other people. But life goes on, and apart from the fact that there's really no such thing as privacy anywhere on the ship, she knows she has to deal with it. Somehow. She'd hardly touched the items that had mysteriously arrived for her a few days before, but now they serve as a convenient distraction.
It takes a while to track down a kettle and tea strainer, now that there's no cook to show her around the kitchen, but when CT curls up in the library with a fresh pot of tea and her new book, it's all worth it. She closes her eyes and takes a long sniff of the steam wafting up, then gets settled in, careful not to spill a drop on the pages of The Tale of the Champion.
The author's name on the front cover makes her raise her eyebrows in mild surprise. So he'd been telling the truth about writing down their story, after all.
The book can only hold her attention for so long, though, and there's more to do. Checking out the new wing of the ship is first on the list. There's not much to hold her interest in the arts and crafts room, but she can be found examining every inch of the Room of Fire and the Infirmary, searching for anything useful or any clue about what they're really doing here. There has to be a reason for that deathtrap of an incinerator room. Or are they just trying to make it easier for the next killer to cover their tracks? ]
