[For the first time in several weeks there is no new memorial in the garden. No new body in the morgue, no bloody mess for the roombas to clean. Choromatsu is still in need of time to heal and constant vigilance but he's alive. They're all alive for once on a Sunday and, even with the terrible realizations their returning memories may bring, there's a sense of hope for the first time in a long time.

There is no new floor this week.

Nope. Everyone is fair game to a bored hunter. Plus, I have nothing personally against you unless you decided to release daemon plague in this place.

I doubt I could even if I wanted to. But you're all better conversation than the average daemon, so I wouldn't be concerned about that if I were you.

I'm always concerned about everything. I've seen diseases wipe out towns before. It's.... It's not fun, especially when you can't help them. Sometimes I wonder how I haven't caught half the diseases I've come across. How does the daemon even work? Is it bloodborne? Airborne? Fluids?

..I never studied the specifics of it on a biological level, but I do know it's parasitic in nature. The reports from Niflheim's laboratories categorized it as something which was mutated from malarial parasites. As a result, it's largely bloodborne; one can sometimes escape injury from a daemon without affliction, but more often than not it's a death sentence.

Malarial... somehow I don't think that quinine or any other antimalarial's will work. Also, you guys sound like you don't have mosquito that can carry it, or else your world might be fucked. So... would extreme heat work? I can heat my body up much higher than a normal person without damage... think I could keep myself safe doing that? Parasites can't handle high heat.

That's not likely. There are plenty of daemons capable of fire and ice magic, so if extreme temperatures affected them they'd only be hurting themselves. I'm afraid there's no cure for it except in highly specific cases of healing magic--the only way to survive is to not contract it in the first place.
