[Even with three deaths two weeks in a row, life in the Fantasy Sweet returns to some semblance of normalcy come Sunday morning. The messes are cleaned up, the bodies are safe in the morgue (or in Kip's case, still in a liquor bottle in the garden) and with this new week comes a fresh crop of returning memories.

There is no new floor this week.

So why do you seem to be so okay with all of... this.

All of this or just all of him? Cuz I'm not okay with this at all, just...y'know, dealing with it and trying not to go crazy. But him?

I ju--he--you remember how he was in that first week or two? He made a point to help people out when they were low. A little distant but a good guy. And when he lost the starscourge cuz it went to Junpei that one week? Queenie, you saw what he was like, okay, and I get to see a lot more of him than you do, and I just--he's, there's this...there's-

He's just lost. And someone's gotta guide him.

That's what I tried to tell him! That there's still good there, that he can heal from this and it- the cards said-

How do you guide someone that rips your head off for suggesting anything?!

I dunno. Persistence? A stubborn streak a couple miles wide? He doesn't really rip my head off for any of it. Mostly just seems baffled and exasperated any time I open my mouth, and I'll take it.

And if you really believe your cards, then maybe he'll let someone help him turn this all around.

[Of course, if she also really believes in her cards, then his own future looks extremely bleak. Meh.]

[So... Church is persistent but snarky and mean about it so it's okay. And Queenie is just honestly, sincerely, hopeful and excited so that's too much?

She can't argue about the cards though. She believes in her readings, at least, in her abilities. So maybe it is right. She just hopes trying for this isn't going to be the ruin her cards told for Church.]

I don't know how someone can help turn it around when he won't... listen to anyone. Except you, I suppose. And sometimes Junpei.

That's an awful lot to take on yourself, though.
