[Even with three deaths two weeks in a row, life in the Fantasy Sweet returns to some semblance of normalcy come Sunday morning. The messes are cleaned up, the bodies are safe in the morgue (or in Kip's case, still in a liquor bottle in the garden) and with this new week comes a fresh crop of returning memories.

There is no new floor this week.

...That's fucking adorable. [Church seems to be making up for yesterday by making the rounds today. The dining room is fixed like he hadn't had a fucking destructive meltdown, and he's trying really hard not to think about it, the resetting as if shit didn't ever happen and the implications thereof.

So instead he's got a hefty chunk of Queenie's challah on one plate and a bowl of her stew in the other, and he's going to focus on that onesie.]

I got an owl, I think? So I guess everyone got one of those stupid things. [He sits, in one of the chairs he knows he didn't break, and uses a spoon to motion to that rice concoction.] Are you...gonna eat that, or stare at it like it made your girlfriend dump you for it?

[shh, his original simile was going to be 'like it murdered your family', church is learning to censor himself just a tad]

[ He doesn't react at first, not even registering that Church is talking to him, but eventually it does register and he looks up in alarm. ]

Huh--? Oh... I guess everyone did...

[ He looks back down at his food ]

Uh... I don't know. I put all this work into making it but now I'm... not really hungry.

I'm not gonna be the mom friend here. But I'll be the big brother friend and say if you really don't want it, I'll totally take it off your hands.

But rest assured, Queenie will make you eat something.

[ Oh god don't bring up big brothers right now he's gonna cry-- okay no he won't but it does give him a moment of pause.

And then he shoves the plate of eggy rice goodness towards Church. ]

You can have it. Maybe I'm more in the mood for stew after all.

I'd say get some of that bread, too, because...damn, if you haven't had challah, you're missing out.

It's bread! [yeah he got that much church] It's, uh, it's a very Jewish bread. You got your flour, sugar, yeast, water, eggs, and salt, gotta have salt, and you roll the dough and braid it all together. It's usually for like holidays or observances, or on shabbat if you're that religious you're gonna do it every week.

So is it sweet?

[ A lot of bread back home is sweet so the sugar sounds appealing ]

More'n regular white bread, yeah. Oh man, and she made this honey butter, to diiiie for. [TURNS OF PHRASES, CHURCH] She should definitely open some kind of restaurant.

[ Shit... that's making his mouth water. That's the first thing that's managed to make his appetite come back a little in weeks. ]

Honey butter?! That's a thing you can make??

Yes?? Oh my god yes. Go get you some before I devour all of it.

[ Shit. Okay, he's going. Going to get some right now.

He comes back with a slice with a generous amount of honey butter and after taking his seat again, goes right ahead and takes a bite. ]

--It's so good!!

[ Said with it still in his mouth and everything like a little kid, but he just had to say it okay!! It's not as sweet as he was expecting it to be but it's definitely yummy. ]
