[As with the weeks before, life in the Fantasy Sweet returns to something resembling normalcy with shocking efficiency. The second floor rest area and Adventure Zone Death Orb Room are spotless again, the demon glitter has been vacuumed, the deflated orbs have been replaced. It's like none of it ever happened, like three more friends aren't dead and stored away in the guest house morgue.

There's a new floor to explore, their "reward" for a job well done.]

[It all happens so fast Cece doesn't have time to react, doesn't have time to run over to help Junpei grab her idiot boss by the scruff of his neck and drag him back. But she's frozen, standing with her microphone clenched in her hands so hard her knuckles turn white and the only thing she can think to do is scream and scream and keep screaming.]

At least Nari is gentle about this. She takes Cece's hands and squeezes them gently.]

[IT'S FINE, SHE WASN'T GOING ANYWHERE...in fact it doesn't look like she's moved from her spot since all this went down.

She jumps slightly when Nari touches her hands and turns to look at her with tear-filled eyes and a slightly blank expression.]

I...Junpei? [Is Junpei alive?]

He's fine. Has a new arm, too. Yuuri, Church, and Ardyn are with him. I gave them care instructions...... they might all be mad at me for a while.

[She wasn't exactly nice to them...]

[She nods a little, not really acknowledging all of what Nari is saying beyond "he's fine". She's gone from 100% to about 5% functioning capacity in the span of ten minutes, excuse her.]

..... [She pats Cece's cheek gently.] Hello?

...he's gone, Nari. He was just standing right there and now he's gone. [The tears are starting to flow freely now but she just grips Nari's hands harder.] Why did he do it? Why did he have to be so stupid and try to be a big hero?!

....... [She almost lets go, feeling an immense amount of guilt.] Because I asked him to stay with Junpei.

What- no. [Don't make her snap out of her trauma-induced haze, young lady.] That wasn't your fault. Kip wouldn't have done it if he didn't want to.

It was. I couldn't think of anyone else who could stay behind and not be punished. It wasn't safe to move Junpei, and Kip... He was the only one available. So I asked. And now.... I'm... I'm so sorry, Cece. I should have... I should have asked someone to move Junpei, take him with us. Said fuck it to my paranoia. Kip wouldn't have felt the need to stay there, and none of this would have happened!

Nari. [Cece pulls her hands away only to cup her girlfriend's face in her hands.] Stop. Please.

Because you didn't do anything wrong! You can pick apart every little thing you did that might have led to this but it doesn't mean it's your fault!

Kip- he was an idiot but he loves you all- loved you all. He wanted to protect you in any way he could.

By dying... Why do people have to die in this place? I.... I don't... I hate it. [She pulls Cece into a tight hug.]

Shh, sh, shh. [Cece presses her face into Nari's neck, returning the hug and petting her hair.]

I won't, I won't. I'm not going anywhere.

[Why is this more reassuring when Cece does this than when anyone else does?]

You better not... I don't think I can go on without you. Not easily.

I promise you. [She turns her head and presses a light, reassuring kiss to her cheek.] I'm harder to kill than I look.

...I'm holding you to the same promise.

[She gives the other woman a small smile.]

I promise as well. I should be practically immortal with how my life has gone.

Good. [She hugs her just a little tighter.] I don't-I don't want to lose anyone else I care about.

[Hug as tight as you need to.] You won't lose me unless I have a mental breakdown.
