Week 5

[As with the weeks before, life in the Fantasy Sweet returns to something resembling normalcy with shocking efficiency. The second floor rest area and Adventure Zone Death Orb Room are spotless again, the demon glitter has been vacuumed, the deflated orbs have been replaced. It's like none of it ever happened, like three more friends aren't dead and stored away in the guest house morgue.

There's a new floor to explore, their "reward" for a job well done.]

[NAH, IT'S COOL....SHE'S FINE, THIS IS FINE]

Y-yeah, yeah! Of course it is! I'd love to hear you sing.

I'm not that great at singing things besides hymns and drinking songs, but I'll try my best!

[She doesn't want to pull away, but she does, heading to the stage. Fiddling with a few things, she stands up on the stage, gripping the microphone as if it were a lifeline. The song starts up and Nari just goes for it.

Which means at one point she is probably way too into this and starts bouncing in place and looking at everything but Cece because lol nerves.

At least when the song ends she has her attention back on the other woman. Nervously waiting for a reaction.]

.............. was that okay?

[Cece took a seat on a bar stool when Nari got up to sing and through the whole thing she sat with her ankles crossed and her hands on her lap. When the song finishes she looks so starstruck that, if she were a more rock-based species, she's have actual stars in her eyes. After a moment of just staring a wide grin breaks out across her face and she starts clapping so hard it makes her hands ache.]

That was so good!!!

[Oh gosh another moment of silence... Which is thankfully broken by applause. Nari lets out a sigh of relief, almost dropping the mic.]

I'm glad you liked it. I was worried the song would be a little too....... Romantic?

[It's supposed to be... But she'll try and deny that.]

No, no, it was...it was perfect. [Cece's grin softens a little and she glances down at her hands, extending her fingers and wiggling them just a little. She looks like she's contemplating something and she is.

Something important.]

...Nari, can I ask you something?

[Nari steps off of the stage, walking over to Cece with a curious expression.]

Sure. What's up?

[theundertaker]

What...what do you think I look like? Under this. [She gestures to the hardlight projector around her neck.]

Honestly? No idea. I'm bad at guessing games... But it doesn't really matter to me. You're Rainbow... No, you're Cece, whether you look like this or want to show me what you really look like. I'm... More about personality in the long run than looks.

[theundertaker]

[Girl, you're going to get her all teary again.] You have no idea how much it means to hear you say that. [She chews her lower lip lightly, glancing back down at her hands.]

Close your eyes.

I only speak the truth. [Keeping secrets is technically not lying.

She nods and closes her eyes, feeling a well of nervousness. Hopefully there will be no regrets and this turns out alright.]

[theundertaker]

[Once her eyes are closed she'll hear Cece take a deep breath, like she's psyching herself up for something before someone takes her gently by the wrist to turn her hand palm side up. Something flat, round and slightly warm is pressed into it.]

Okay...open.

[Nerves are replaced entirely by curiousity when she feels something pressed into her hand. Her fingers close around it as she slowly opens her eyes.

What's she going to see?]

[The person standing where Cece Diver was just a few seconds ago doesn't look like the young woman Nari knows. True, they're the same height and have the same delicate build, she's wearing Cece's dress and glasses but at first glance she looks nothing like Cece.

For one thing she's purple. Just straight up purple with a healthy dusting of dark-colored freckles across her nose, cheeks and exposed shoulders. Her eyes, instead of brown, are a purple few shades lighter than her skin tone. But the most startling difference might just be her hair. The long, thick hair Cece always seemed so pleased with changing colors near constantly is completely gone and replaced with rigid-looking scalp crests.

She smiles, a little nervously.]

Surprise?

[That.... Is actually a lot tamer than what Nari expected. For one, it's not a bug form. Or a pigeon.

She puts her hands over her mouth to mute a squeal that was slipping out. Wait for a moment, Cece, as she bounces in place a little before answering.]

You're so pretty!

[Wait, that means what she was handed made this Cece look like the one they've gotten used to? That is some seriously amazing technology...]

[oh god, she is going to straight up faint from relief. THE FEAR OF REJECTION WAS ALL IN HER HEAD but hoo boy for a second she was real worried.

She lets out an exhilarated giggle, clasping her hands over her mouth.] Really? You think so?

I do! Oh my gosh... You were literally born to look good in purple. Wow... Just...

[She's... Overwhelmed, in a good way! And when like this, thought goes out the window. There's a bounce and she steps closer to Cece, leaning down and giving her a kiss.]

........ Those freckles are so cute now that I'm this close.

[That is not what you say to someone after you just kissed them!!!]
