Week 3
[It takes a disturbingly short amount of time for the status quo to be restored. PAL still makes the morning and night time announcements through the PIP on each Champion's arm, and still the Champion unitards are freshly laundered and re-hung each morning in their closets.
There's a new floor to explore, a perverse reward for a trial well done.]
Sunday Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday
[ooc: Don't forget to to turn in your AC for week 2 and submit your threads for the Benefactors!]

[ She's very carefully not looking at him, just to avoid making this conversation any harder to have. ]
Did you feel like it was just a dream?
no subject
no.
[His voice cracks on that word.]

... Do you want to talk about it at all?
[ 'or should I shut up and leave you alone' is the unspoken second half of that question. ]
no subject
I.. I don't know how- if I say it outloud, that makes it real.
no subject
... Then... what if I told you mine first? Then if you feel like you can do it... tell me yours. Does that sound okay?

... In my profile, it says I live at the school I used to go to. I live there because it's a shelter and it's one of the only safe places left. Everywhere else, even in the school grounds there's...
[ she trails off, not sure if he even has the concept of a zombie back in his own world. ]
... people who died. People who died but don't stay dead. But they don't come back right. Do you understand what I mean?

[His eyes widen with horror. That's the darkest of dark magic]
I've fought animals like that, but never people...

We were stuck in the school with them on all sides and living off the supplies and resources we had there. That all happened before I arrived here.
What I remembered was... leaving the school with my friends to go and find some more supplies. We stopped off at a mall -- a big market -- to take whatever we could and we ended up running into a horde of them. But there was a girl there, too, and we just... just managed to save her and get out of there ourselves.
The last thing I remember before waking up was getting back to the school safely. But I don't remember anything after that.
[ She's a little out of breath -- she'd said that all very fast so she couldn't think too hard about what she was saying or try and back out of telling him all this. ]

That was really brave.
[He's not great at comforting but he's trying]

I don't know if it was brave as much as it was the only thing we could do. Yuki-chan... one of the girls living with us ran in after her and we saved both of them. If it hadn't been for Yuki-chan we wouldn't even have noticed she was still in there. We were preparing to go home when Yuki-chan went running off -- she heard that girl, Miki-san, calling out when the rest of us didn't.
... Yuki-chan's like that in a lot of ways. Running off and pulling us along with her, seeing things in places we never would've thought to look.

Still, I'm glad... that you didn't lose anyone.
no subject
... do you feel like you can talk? If not, you can just help me with taking stock of everything in here. But I won't leave you alone. I promise.

[She told him something, it's only fair. He takes a shaking breath]
I'm... the middle of five siblings. Two elder brothers, a elder sister and a younger sister. But when I was very young my father was killed while attending a peace talk. My second eldest brother, Corrin, was with him at the time, as was my eldest brother Ryoma.
Corrin was... taken. He couldn't have more then... five, at the time? I was a toddler and Sakura was just a baby, so I can't really remember it. We didn't know if King Garon had him killed or something... worse.
Shortly before I woke up here, Corrin... came back. But he grew up in Nohr. He considered Garon his father. He didn't even remember us. I wanted to believe that it would be okay, but...
I remembered, last night. The sword he brought with him, it... exploded. It was a trap. A lot of people died. Including... our mother.
[during his story his hand gripped tighter and tighter on the towels he had been fiddling with, and by the time he finishes he just lays his head on the ruined stack. If not for talking with Nari earlier he wouldn't have managed the entire thing]

Her stomach drops all the way back to the foyer downstairs. What a thing to wake up to. If it had just been a nightmare that would've been awful enough. But now he knows it's true.
She feels ill at heart and she doesn't know what to say. So in the end, she doesn't say anything. She just takes a step closer and sets her hand on his shoulder.
She's here. You're not alone in this. ]
no subject
I don't... I don't know what to do.

[ She wishes she could. She wishes fixing this was as easy as just saying the right words. ]
I can't... imagine what it must be like to lose all that at once. I'm so, so sorry, Takumi-san.
