Week 1

[With the introduction to the relationship experiment and their overseeing hosts done with, the Champions are left to their own devices to explore the first floor of the mansion as they please. Cece and Kip will pop-up every once in a while to chit-chat but for the most part they're somewhere inaccessible.

Each morning the Champions are awakened promptly at 7 am by PAL's even, almost laid back voice announcing the time and each evening at 10 pm to announce when the kitchen is closing for the night. Unlike the Overseers, he doesn't seem to be one much for conversation.

Enjoy your week, Champions.]

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday

[ooc: welcome to week 1, everyone! This first week is a peace week which means there will be no murder this weekend! Feel free to start submitting threads for the benefactors]

Garden

[personal profile] brokencode 2017-05-20 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
[By Friday, Angel was confident that she was becoming something of a staple in the garden. She spent as much time as she possibly could there, still enamored by the bright (albeit false) light and brilliant smells.]

[Having roused and readied herself far later than Ardyn apparently had, the man easily stood out as she set to her first rounds of the area. Usually, she focused solely on the fresh new blooms, but she supposed a purple-haired man was just as interesting as anything else.]

Magnificent view, is it not? [She settled in a good yard or so from the man.] Do you see any stars you recognize?

[it's either jrpg genetics or a perk of being Incredibly Magic(tm), but either way he makes the 'scruffy violet-haired mess' look work out pretty well.]

Hm-? [He glanced away from the window, blinking yellow eyes a few times as he tried to register that yes, someone had asked him a question and he'd been too distracted to process it at first.]

Ah...no, I am afraid I don't. Wherever we are must be an unfathomable distance from my homeland.

[Thankfully, he's a bit too old for her. Not to mention a bit... odd. For that reason, she wouldn't be ogling over the man any time soon. That could be saved for the assembled men and women and those watching the display.]

You, too then. That is unfortunate. [She had hoped that someone might recognize the system, provide a little grounding, so to speak.]

[well, thank bahamut for that because he is probably nobody's type]

There's little doubt the others will say much the same, I suspect. Wherever we are and however we came to be here, those responsible were likely quite thorough in removing all familiarity.

[The fans were sure to love them. If there actually were fans of this show. Hopefully no one out there thought kidnapping people was quality entertainment.]

One could always hope. Perhaps, then, Kip and Cece might know? [She pondered the thought for a moment, before shrugging.] I only wish to have some idea of just how far removed I am from my home. If someone can so much as give me a name of the system, I could figure it out.

[personal profile] scourgingstars 2017-05-20 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
Could you? [He sounded interested by that, focusing entirely on Angel rather than the constellations out the window.] That sounds as though it must be an impressive talent. You're not another that travels through the stars like that, are you?
brokencode: (who farted)

[personal profile] brokencode 2017-05-20 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
In theory. It is impossible to memorize the location of every star in relation to another, but remembering the names of systems... [What else was there to do when linked into the entire internet but read Space Wikipedia.]

I personally have not traveled the stars, no. But it is very common for people in my world.
scourgingstars: (into the setting sun)

[personal profile] scourgingstars 2017-05-20 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Even that must be quite an impressive wealth of information on your part. I can scarcely imagine what might lie beyond our own stars, much less consider remembering such systems' names.

[He did honestly seem impressed regardless, answering her with a small smile.]

I would say that it seems like quite the experience, but if this place is any indication I find myself a bit unimpressed by the traveling aspect.
brokencode: (more thinking with a face)

[personal profile] brokencode 2017-05-21 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
It was my job to be both well-learned in a general sense and well-versed in the general goings-on of the planet I watched over. That said, there was a lot of free time. Picking up new information was the only way of getting by.

[The smile was returned with one of her own. Her expression was complemented by an excited glimmer in her eyes. It wasn't often that she got to talk about the things she was interested in. Everything revolved around Pandora these days.]

Unimpressed? Why is that?
scourgingstars: (if i look hard enough)

[personal profile] scourgingstars 2017-05-21 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I do presume that ordinarily we would be goingsomewhere. Unless I've very much missed something, I've not heard any indication we might be anything but stationary. I'm no expert on reading the stars, but it doesn't seem as though we're anything but stationary.

[Ardyn shook his head, glancing out the window again.]

You must do a great deal of studying.
brokencode: (side-glance self doubt)

[personal profile] brokencode 2017-05-21 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah. Yes I imagine this would be unimpressive. Still, most methods of travel are not stationary. I should only hope you would be entertained by that.

[With Ardyn no longer looking at her, Angel also allowed for her gaze to drift, settling on a distant and unfamiliar star. Perhaps if she stared long enough, she might find some sort of recognizable feature, or spot something she had missed in her endless observations.]

I had a fair bit of free-time and little to do with it. The best thing to do was learn.
scourgingstars: (into the setting sun)

[personal profile] scourgingstars 2017-05-21 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I would certainly hope most travelling should involve motion, otherwise it would scarcely have a point.

[He laughed to himself, shrugging.]

Learning in one's spare time is an admirable pursuit, I think.

[personal profile] brokencode 2017-05-21 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
... Yes, I suppose that was rather redundant wasn't it? [She cringed in the slightest, skin coloring an ashamed red. Communicating was hard when she didn't have a screen to hide behind.]

I am glad you think so. All I know is that if there are things I cannot experience in my life -- and there are many -- at least I can read about them.
scourgingstars: (my love will laugh with me)

[personal profile] scourgingstars 2017-05-21 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Merely joking, do forgive me. [He looked back at Angel briefly, offering an apologetic smile.]

I think it's good to recognize where one might be limited and seek to remedy that. For as much as I've experienced myself, I know there are countless matters I know nothing of. Ones such as this, for example. [Ardyn gestured slightly to the endless space outside.] For all that I very much need to return home, this has been quite an opportunity to see things I otherwise never would have.
brokencode: (loud pouting)

[personal profile] brokencode 2017-05-22 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
It is... no problem, my friend. Sorry to have reacted so hastily. [Social is hard.]

It is good then, that you have the freedom of betterment. There are many, myself included, who are unable to work around the boundaries imposed in their lives. In that case, we must work within what we have.

Knowledge was my escape, in the perhaps rather vain hope that my the strength of my mind could make up for the weakness of my body.
scourgingstars: (into the setting sun)

[personal profile] scourgingstars 2017-05-23 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
It's an entirely worthwhile pursuit. Some are better suited to intellect than combat, I see no shame in that.
brokencode: (look up proud of self)

[personal profile] brokencode 2017-05-23 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
I am glad we can see eye-to-eye on this, then. [A careful smile was offered to Ardyn.]

You seem a very wise man. I hope I have not said that already.

[personal profile] scourgingstars 2017-05-23 07:34 am (UTC)(link)

Whether you have or not, it's flattering all the same. I don't claim to be more or less intelligent than anyone else; it's clear there are a great number of things the rest of you know that I've no concept of. It's been quite fascinating so far.
brokencode: (gaspu no hands)

[personal profile] brokencode 2017-05-23 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
Well... if you ever find that you have questions about our ways, or at least mine, I would be happy to answer them. We can learn from one another, in that case.
scourgingstars: (my love will laugh with me)

[personal profile] scourgingstars 2017-05-23 10:03 am (UTC)(link)
You have my honest gratitude for that. And if there should be anything I might be able to answer or otherwise assist you with, you need only ask. [He answered with a slight bow paired with a flourish that was too dramatic to be anything but a joke; the slight smirk on his face confirmed as much.]

Ardyn Lucis Caelum, entirely at your service.

[The display was enough to invoke a soft, tittering laugh from the siren. Nevertheless, when Ardyn rose, Angel forced a serious look onto her face, straightening up as she did.]

I hope we have a good time working with one another, Ardyn Lucis Caelum.
