week 1
[With the introduction to the relationship experiment and their overseeing hosts done with, the Champions are left to their own devices to explore the first floor of the mansion as they please. Cece and Kip will pop-up every once in a while to chit-chat but for the most part they're somewhere inaccessible.
Each morning the Champions are awakened promptly at 7 am by PAL's even, almost laid back voice announcing the time and each evening at 10 pm to announce when the kitchen is closing for the night. Unlike the Overseers, he doesn't seem to be one much for conversation.
Enjoy your week, Champions.]
[ooc: welcome to week 1, everyone! This first week is a peace week which means there will be no murder this weekend! Feel free to start submitting threads for the benefactors]
Garden
[Having roused and readied herself far later than Ardyn apparently had, the man easily stood out as she set to her first rounds of the area. Usually, she focused solely on the fresh new blooms, but she supposed a purple-haired man was just as interesting as anything else.]
Magnificent view, is it not? [She settled in a good yard or so from the man.] Do you see any stars you recognize?

Hm-? [He glanced away from the window, blinking yellow eyes a few times as he tried to register that yes, someone had asked him a question and he'd been too distracted to process it at first.]
Ah...no, I am afraid I don't. Wherever we are must be an unfathomable distance from my homeland.
no subject
You, too then. That is unfortunate. [She had hoped that someone might recognize the system, provide a little grounding, so to speak.]
no subject
There's little doubt the others will say much the same, I suspect. Wherever we are and however we came to be here, those responsible were likely quite thorough in removing all familiarity.
no subject
One could always hope. Perhaps, then, Kip and Cece might know? [She pondered the thought for a moment, before shrugging.] I only wish to have some idea of just how far removed I am from my home. If someone can so much as give me a name of the system, I could figure it out.

I personally have not traveled the stars, no. But it is very common for people in my world.
no subject
[He did honestly seem impressed regardless, answering her with a small smile.]
I would say that it seems like quite the experience, but if this place is any indication I find myself a bit unimpressed by the traveling aspect.

[The smile was returned with one of her own. Her expression was complemented by an excited glimmer in her eyes. It wasn't often that she got to talk about the things she was interested in. Everything revolved around Pandora these days.]
Unimpressed? Why is that?
no subject
[Ardyn shook his head, glancing out the window again.]
You must do a great deal of studying.

[With Ardyn no longer looking at her, Angel also allowed for her gaze to drift, settling on a distant and unfamiliar star. Perhaps if she stared long enough, she might find some sort of recognizable feature, or spot something she had missed in her endless observations.]
I had a fair bit of free-time and little to do with it. The best thing to do was learn.
no subject
[He laughed to himself, shrugging.]
Learning in one's spare time is an admirable pursuit, I think.
no subject
I am glad you think so. All I know is that if there are things I cannot experience in my life -- and there are many -- at least I can read about them.
no subject
I think it's good to recognize where one might be limited and seek to remedy that. For as much as I've experienced myself, I know there are countless matters I know nothing of. Ones such as this, for example. [Ardyn gestured slightly to the endless space outside.] For all that I very much need to return home, this has been quite an opportunity to see things I otherwise never would have.
no subject
It is good then, that you have the freedom of betterment. There are many, myself included, who are unable to work around the boundaries imposed in their lives. In that case, we must work within what we have.
Knowledge was my escape, in the perhaps rather vain hope that my the strength of my mind could make up for the weakness of my body.

You seem a very wise man. I hope I have not said that already.
no subject
Whether you have or not, it's flattering all the same. I don't claim to be more or less intelligent than anyone else; it's clear there are a great number of things the rest of you know that I've no concept of. It's been quite fascinating so far.

Ardyn Lucis Caelum, entirely at your service.

I hope we have a good time working with one another, Ardyn Lucis Caelum.
