Week 1

[With the introduction to the relationship experiment and their overseeing hosts done with, the Champions are left to their own devices to explore the first floor of the mansion as they please. Cece and Kip will pop-up every once in a while to chit-chat but for the most part they're somewhere inaccessible.

Each morning the Champions are awakened promptly at 7 am by PAL's even, almost laid back voice announcing the time and each evening at 10 pm to announce when the kitchen is closing for the night. Unlike the Overseers, he doesn't seem to be one much for conversation.

It's nothing amazing -- we just happened to have some very good cookbooks.

[ She is preening a little at the praise, though. It's nice, for once, to have enough spare food that she can be a little bit frivolous with her cooking. ]

[Well that takes no thought whatsoever. She reaches for that cute little cupcake that happens to be right in front of her.]

[And stops, because wait what about this chocolate cake over here? It looks delicious.]

[Actually she'll go with the cupcake after all--

LOOK AT THAT ONE

LOOK AT THE ICING ON IT

This might take more thought than she expected.]

[serrata]

[ She watches for a moment -- and then she laughs. ]

You can take more than one, if you like! There should be enough for everyone to have one or two of something, if you really can't decide.

You're certain?

[...she asks, already grabbing the cupcake. She can probably settle for just one of the other things, but that cupcake, it calls to her.]

Of course! It's here for everyone to enjoy. It's just a shame we don't have any real snacks -- it doesn't feel quite like a sleepover without it.

[ She gives an obviously theatrical sigh. ]

But we'll have to make do!

[Arianna is carefully unpeeling the paper on the cupcake. It's so perfect, she doesn't want to damage it except by eating it. Do they actually have those in EO-land for her to recognize as not food? Who knows. Who cares. Shh.]

They seem quite real to me. You've done an excellent job.

[serrata]

I just hope they all taste as good as they look. I know the cake is fine, but I obviously haven't tried all the cupcakes yet. They shouldn't be poisonous or anything at least, though!

[ maybe don't joke about poison in a murdergame, yuuri

... that said though, she is watching to see what Arianna thinks once she takes a bite. ]

[What? No, that's hilarious! It's not like anyone would ever actually kill anyone here. That's nonsense. ...Arianna does hesitate for just a moment, though. But it's only because it seems like a shame to eat such a cute cupcake! Really!]

Mmmmmmm!

[She would never talk with her mouth full, but nobody ever said anything about making Very Happy Noises.]

[ Okay that sounds like she approves. She gives a laugh and decides to take one of the cupcakes for herself. She might as well if they apparently taste so good. ]

So you like it, then? I'm glad! I can make some more if we run out tonight, too.

[ let her feed you eats you cinnamon roll ]

[feed her cinnamon rolls so roland doesn't have to be the only cannibal

She nods enthusiastically before swallowing.]

Where did you learn to be such a wonderful cook?

I've been cooking for myself for a while, so it's just what I've picked up along the way. Having a good recipe is a lot of help and we've got some good cooking books to use.

[ the ingredients being so fresh is almost definitely a factor as well. ]

Do you know how to cook at all, Arianna-chan?

...not particularly.

I've been thinking that I should learn.

[serrata]

I could always give you some help, if you'd really like to learn. Once you have the basics all worked out it's much easier to start picking up the rest.

I'd like that!

--but you're already helping me with the garden...

That doesn't mean I can't help you with cooking too, does it?

[ it's something to do and she thinks Arianna would probably be a quick learner. ]

It shouldn't take all that long and we've certainly got the time for it.

It's simply that I don't wish to impose upon you unreasonably...

[It's a toss-up, really.]

Arianna-chan. [ a little firmly: ] If it was a bother or I didn't want to do it then I wouldn't offer. I'd like to help you out, so you're not imposing on me in the slightest. Okay?

Yes. In that case, I would be happy to receive your instruction.

Is there anything you'd really like to try cooking? We could start from that and work up from there.

[daughterofthemark]

[What Arianna would really like to be able to prepare at will and eat anytime she wants is venison, but she's not sure they even have any of that here, so that's not really an option.]

Cookies, perhaps?

Ooh, cookies are a nice start. Are there any you have in mind? Or is chocolate chip just about safe enough?

Chocolate chip seems fine. If that isn't too complex...

[what if applying the chocolate chips is an advanced procedure? it's not like she would know]
