Week 1

[With the introduction to the relationship experiment and their overseeing hosts done with, the Champions are left to their own devices to explore the first floor of the mansion as they please. Cece and Kip will pop-up every once in a while to chit-chat but for the most part they're somewhere inaccessible.

Each morning the Champions are awakened promptly at 7 am by PAL's even, almost laid back voice announcing the time and each evening at 10 pm to announce when the kitchen is closing for the night. Unlike the Overseers, he doesn't seem to be one much for conversation.

Poe Dameron and Rey. I'm pretty sure those are names, but I've never met anyone called that.

Hm. [Junpei puts a hand to his chin, then announces:] Whoever they are, they sound hot. You should definitely get to know them.

[Chortling a little, Junpei uses his own PIP to unlock the door to their room. Click! Time to flop onto a bed.]

[He rubs his fingertips against the pad of his thumb as he tries to think of the word.]

Like, strong, upstanding character. That's the name of a YA novel's protagonist if I ever heard one.

[Give him a couple weeks to start remembering stuff and he might agree, but for now, what.]

Young adult. For teenagers, basically. A lot of it's got science fiction or dystopian themes. You never heard the term?

Oh. That's stuff like aliens, time travel. Mind-reading. Things that we don't know about or don't exist yet, but could in the future.

But non-human species make up- I don't know, probably seventy-five of the galactic population? Maybe eighty?

Wow. I, uh. ...That sure is a lot of aliens, being real and. Existing. ...But it looks like humans make up a kind of surprising amount of the population, too. Do aliens just not make a lot of babies?

I- ...actually, I don't know.

[If you asked the First Order they're probably having entirely too many babies, but he's not about to trust that as any kind of accurate.]

Maybe Rey and Poe Dameron are aliens. You'll have your very own alien friends. Just like the movies.

Oh, Nishitani mentioned something about those movie things, the holodramas. Why do people from Earth think of aliens as little and green?

Use of the term "little green men" dates all the way back to the twelfth century, actually, though it's unclear when it first came into use as a descriptor of extraterrestrials. It turned up in a couple stories about Martians in the early 1900's, I think? And then it got popularized in pulp magazines.

I mean, there are some species that are little and green, but not many. You think they might've managed to make it to your Earth somehow?

I didn't say it was likely, just a possibility. Like I said, I didn't think anyone had ever left the galaxy before this.
