Week 1

[With the introduction to the relationship experiment and their overseeing hosts done with, the Champions are left to their own devices to explore the first floor of the mansion as they please. Cece and Kip will pop-up every once in a while to chit-chat but for the most part they're somewhere inaccessible.

Each morning the Champions are awakened promptly at 7 am by PAL's even, almost laid back voice announcing the time and each evening at 10 pm to announce when the kitchen is closing for the night. Unlike the Overseers, he doesn't seem to be one much for conversation.

[Stereotypes. Ah well, time to educate. Going to take the pan off of the stove for this so the pancake doesn't burn.]

Let me show you the fridge~

[Of course she's singing this to the tune of a certain Disney song. Now then. See this big cabinet looking thing with two different doors? Nari opens the bigger one.]

This is the fridge. The small compartment above it is called a freezer. You want something kept cold, put it in the fridge. Don't forget you put it in there, please.

[Wondering how it works, Arianna reaches toward a random container, then pauses.
She was expecting it to be cool inside, but not properly cold. Not without any visible ice or anything.]

How does it work?

Nari sighs softly and kneels down to point properly at a set of slits in the back.]

Air comes through there and is pulled back in. The air that gets pulled in is cooled on the inside by the coils you see on the back of the fridge when it's pulled forward. It gets put back into the fridge via a fan system when it's cooled to the pre-set temperature. Keeping the door closed makes it more efficient. So only open it when you want to get things, not stare at it for hours at a time. Okay?

Oh! And that way only the coils have to have ice properties. That's amazing!

[She won't stare at it for hours! She might... forget and leave it open though.]

... no. It's not magic. Just technology. It's actually bad if the coils get colder than the temperature gauge should let them be.

[Well of course it's not magic, it's just technology. Just like Arianna's ability to shift the elements in her party's favor isn't magic, it's just a Sovereign skill.]

Yes, it would be a problem if all of these foods froze.

That's what you have the freezer for.

[A fridge makes things frigid, but a freezer makes things freeze. Get it?]

So that one is like the "fridge," but more powerful?

Definitely more powerful. You can even keep raw meat fresh in this, if it's packaged properly.

Amazing! Then the meat of a Ragelope could be kept long enough to be enjoyed over and over...

.... Ragelope. Tell me about this Ragelope. Are they delicious?

Ragelope are gigantic deer. I've never had their meat before, but a well-prepared venison steak is always delicious.

They're dangerous to fight, but if you could defeat one...

Oh, a gunner! That's very versatile.

[YEAH GUNNERS ARE PRETTY GREAT. I BET IF THERE WAS A GUNNER IN ONE OF THESE MURDERGAMES SHE'D HAVE NO TROUBLE SURVIVING.]

Gunner? No, I'm a lot more versatile than that. I likes bows, too. Knives can be pretty effective, but I would use those more for cutting and gutting than killing.
