Week 1

[After being introduced to their Counselor, the inmates are left to their own devices to explore the open areas of the ship as they please. The counselor's office hours are available if any of the inmates wish to speak to him privately and, throughout the week, the cook and the janitor can be found here and there.

Each morning the inmates are awakened by Dr. Price's voice over the intercoms located in each cell announcing the time as 7 am. Breakfast is served each morning in the mess hall from 7 am to 8 am, lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m..

[Oda was just coming out to return the book he'd finished (while standing in a box) to the library, when he spots Shirou and his training.

Whatever that training actually is.]

[ He tenses up slightly, before sighing in what seems to be a heavy breath of relief. ]

No, no... you didn't. I was actually just finishing up, myself.

[He's just internally very ???? about what's happening here.]

[ It's too embarrassing so he had to take it down on day one. ]

I don't know why they gave us this one. I'd have preferred a motivational cat picture.

Isn't that why we have roommates?

[It takes Oda a full two seconds to figure out what Shirou's talking about, and the only visible reaction is a slight widening of his eyes.]

...Maybe that's why our cells lock from the inside.

[He is coming to so many conclusions he didn't want to come to today.]

Would people from the other cells be able to hear?

[ Shirou should test the soundproofness of the walls. ]

Also I hope that's not the reason.

I don't know. I don't think I'm going to find out that way.

[He is several kinds of (unsure).]

We could bang pots and pans on the walls, but I don't want to damage the cookware...

How about we try yelling?

That would be easier.

[And the first time Oda's raised his voice in this prison.]

Which cell are you in? It would be better to start with the cells next to each other and see how far our voices carry.

I'm in five. We can also check by having someone stand outside the cell and yell inside while the door's closed.

I'm in ten. Standing outside and yelling might be a better idea.

Let's do that. Mine's closer, so I'll be the one inside, yelling.

Alright. Let's check now.

[ ONWARDS MY WAYWARD FRIEND..... ]

You stay out there while I go inside. I'll do a count from ten inside really loudly and you can do the same from outside. Afterwards, I'll go out and ask if you heard anything. We'll start the timer the moment the door closes.

Alright. I'm ready.

[He is so ready to test whether sound carries by counting loudly outside someone's room.]

[ He'll go inside and do exactly what he said, going ahead inside the cell and count to ten really, really loudly. ]

[Oda will do the same as loudly as he can easily manage.

...It's a good thing that these cells are soundproof, given that it's late in the evening and people are trying to sleep.]
