Week 1

[After being introduced to their Counselor, the inmates are left to their own devices to explore the open areas of the ship as they please. The counselor's office hours are available if any of the inmates wish to speak to him privately and, throughout the week, the cook and the janitor can be found here and there.

Each morning the inmates are awakened by Dr. Price's voice over the intercoms located in each cell announcing the time as 7 am. Breakfast is served each morning in the mess hall from 7 am to 8 am, lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m..

[That would be sarcastic from most people, but it's a completely sincere question as to why Mako is staring at the mirror when Oda walks in.]

Yes--I mean, no. No, nothing.

[ mako you're a terrible liar. he says it mostly out of reflex, though, still staring at his reflection in the mirror. ]

...Was the age on your profile correct?

It was. Yours wasn't?

No. I'm nineteen, not twenty-two.

[ and yet....why does he look...older? the differences between his nineteen-year-old self and his current self are slight, but they're noticeable.

mako looks down at his hands. ]

At least...I think I am.

People have been talking about memory loss as possible. It might explain parts of some of the profiles.

[chides]

...Three years of memory loss? How is that possible?

[tenimuho]

It's not less reasonable than space travel.

[chides]

That shouldn't be possible, either. Not where I'm from.

[ ... ] Guess you guys from the future aren't too surprised.

[tenimuho]

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm surprised and worried.

[ he doesn't sound surprised but he'll take his word for it. ]

Well...whatever's going on? We'll get to the bottom of it. Memory loss and space travel and all.

[look oda's just not very expressive, that doesn't mean he doesn't have feelings]

We will. If I discover anything important, I'll let the rest of the group know right away.

[chides]

We should actually be meeting on our own to talk about our situation, without The Counselor. Not sure if we're being watched, but it'd be helpful to share what we know and try to formulate some kind of strategy while we're here.

[tenimuho]

The rules mention security cameras, so I wouldn't assume we aren't being watched. But it would be good to share information.

[chides]

...That's what those are. Got it.

[ security cameras aren't even a thing back where he's from, so...wow. technology, man. ]

We should. I don't think they'd try to stop us.

Bonding with other prisoners is usually encouraged.

[Even though this is a weird prison.]

They're pretty lenient about what we do here, too. Most prisons don't let their prisoners walk around freely like we can.

[tenimuho]

Most prisons wouldn't still be running if they had that policy.

[chides]

Yes. What I'm trying to say is that it seems like we can do whatever we want, for the most part.

We're encouraged to investigate on our own, for whatever reason...

Then I'm gonna do just that.
