Air comes through there and is pulled back in. The air that gets pulled in is cooled on the inside by the coils you see on the back of the fridge when it's pulled forward. It gets put back into the fridge via a fan system when it's cooled to the pre-set temperature. Keeping the door closed makes it more efficient. So only open it when you want to get things, not stare at it for hours at a time. Okay?
