[Of course she'd never heard of it. It was certainly the kind of name that was chosen to inspire fear if you asked her. But it sounded fantastical to her.]

So... you sacrificed yourself to get rid of this... Starscourge, whatever it is?

[Her heart falls heavy. She's silent for a short, uncomfortable moment while that sinks in. She gets it. Even if he did show up, what kind of life is left for him there? It's a lot of uncertainty.

[ Wow! It's Thursday again! There's absolutely no creeping sense of dread here, no sir. Noctis is restless for no reason.

He gets a little bit of breakfast at Starbucks--coffee and a cheese danish. He's there for a while, doodling on some stationery; there's a bunch of birds on this one. Letters, again. And some drawings. He's humming a little song very quietly.

After that, he goes to Reading Comet, where he finds an interesting series by one Aiden Rowen. He takes the first book and sits in a cushy chair. He's there for a while, just reading--he won't mind anyone coming to talk. By the time he leaves, though, he's grabbed the whole series, four in all.

Then he goes to the food court, mannequin in hand, and practices his swordplay. ]

[ He serves her a bit, then hands the plate over. ]

Here you go. You deserve it for all your hard work and helping me.

[All she can do is watch, brow knitted in quiet contemplation. She didn't like seeing Varric acting like this, even when she wasn't sure why. That was the most infuriating part.]
