Feel free ta keep it. references are always good. But yup. Those are the spots ya wanna avoid the most. A lot of the others will bleed a lot, sure, and some pretty rapidly, but most people'll be conscious enough ta try and staunch the blood. Get slashed in one of those four spots and you're screwed. M and N will result in loss of motion if ya manage ta penetrate the abdominal wall, but are way too risky in a fast fight and will probably wind up with guts everywhere instead.

As ya may be able ta guess Q, U, and S will also result in losses of motion. The back is full of muscles controlling motion and not really any big arteries to worry about hitting, so it's one of the safer areas ta go for.

You'll probably be able to hit them in the front easier though, so Point L is good, as it'll kill their ability to throw an decent punch. Though I doubt punching is what you'll need ta worry 'bout.
Like I said back at the library though, H is one of the best spots.

A good rule of thumb is that areas with lots of nerves and no major arteries are the best spots. But yeah, like ya said, hurting them without actually killing them. It's not about how much ya make 'em bleed, it's about how much ya make 'em hurt.
