Yes, a tournament is a very different thing.

In a tournament, the matches are arranged in advance. They're crafted so that all factors are equal, and both parties have a chance of victory relative to their level of skill. This ritual has no such boundaries. The idea that anything could be "cheating" or "unfair" would be laughable. The only goal is to win, and by any means necessary.

It's much closer to this killing game than a fighting tournament is.
