Thus I, by extension, cannot be considered a culprit.

Furthermore, please do not get me wrong. It is still one of my fondest hopes that everyone makes it out of this alive. But I would be stupid to assume at least one person won't try to find another way out - that's not how these stories work, after all. It may not be this week. It may not even be until the end.
