[So on the downside, Oda's not going to rap about his children, but on the upside...]
My five children. I adopted them two years ago - a gang war destroyed their homes and they would have ended up on the street otherwise.
Sakura's the youngest, she's four now. She likes to draw with her crayons and her favorite toy is a teddy bear that's almost as big as she is. The last time I saw her she told me that nobody has to help her dress anymore, she was so proud of herself.
Shinji's the next-youngest, he's seven. He likes reading, especially comics. He's shyer than his siblings and doesn't talk much in group conversations, but if you ask him about what he's reading he'll light up and talk about it for ages.
Yu is eight years old. He keeps picking up new hobbies every month, it feels like. He's been through a photography phase, a string figures phase, a painting phase... It makes it a little difficult to pick out toys for him, but I don't mind.
Katsumi is also eight, and he'll tell you that he's an older eight than Yu if you ask. He's very insistent about that. He wants to become a professional softball player when he's older. He's not allowed to play catch inside the restaurant anymore since his softball ended up in the soup.
Kousuke's the oldest, he's nine. He's the biggest troublemaker of the bunch - if they're playing a game like 'surprise Odasaku when he walks in the door by jumping on him from the bunk bed' then he's definitely the ringleader. But he's got the qualities of a leader in him - even if right now being stubborn and refusing to abandon his comrades means I usually have to get him to surrender using tickle torture.
They're good kids.
[This is the most genuinely happy Oda has sounded in his stay here so far.]
