Also, man, this whole thing is just so fucking absurd that 'refuge in audacity' barely even covers it. Here he was, acting like some dumb teenager asking a cute girl to prom, but like five times worse, to someone who actively wants to die who's been alive for thousands of years, the actual god damn embodiment of fucking evil with the hint of a real person under it.
