[Many people had learned of her story the day before. Their support gave her the strength to speak aloud in front of everyone else. Just as she had told herself yesterday, the people here deserved to know. She had been forthcoming with everything else to this point -- these memories would be no different.]

I... was born to a man named Jack. As I told some of you several weeks ago, when I was a young teen, I was given the powers of a siren. Those... powers would eventually kill my mother. Jack locked me away for years, telling me it was for my own good.

Using my powers, he was able to connect me to the ECHOnet, an... intergalactic network. Together, we worked to help him seek power in the corporation he worked for. He told me that if we succeeded, he would have the resources to keep me safe from the rest of the world.

And... [Her hands trembled, leading her to ball them into fists.] In due time, succeed we did. In the process, though, Jack began to lose himself, or at least what little humanity he had left. He sought out another vault, one that held the promise of immense knowledge. In the process of absorbing that knowledge, he was scarred severely by a woman named Lilith.

And so he swore revenge.

His plan was to capture her, to use her to recharge the vault key and destroy the planet called Pandora. He... instructed me to earn the trust of the town called New Haven, and then to convince them to lower their defenses.

The blow was swift, and led by Jack's best. No one survived my betrayal, including Lilith.

So instead, my father decided to use me, instead. I am his tool, his own personal siren to lure people to death. That is... why I was branded the Champion Traitor.
