It was important, though--that we would have recognized him, but the killer didn't. That's how we caught him. He couldn't recognize faces, so... the mastermind set him up to kill everyone they wanted revenge on.

I don't know if we can make out any kind of pattern to the deaths here, but it's worth keeping in mind as we try to solve this.
