[At 7 AM on Friday, the mini-maps that allow the teleporter to be used all turn back on. Like any other time that the status quo has been abruptly restored at the end of the week, there's something ominous about it all the same. Especially on the fourth floor.]

At least, I think it's day 15. Cece's been nice enough to keep track of whether it's supposed to be day or night, but I was just a little preoccupied with keeping Jamie from hurting himself and like a dumbass forgot to make tally marks or something.
Anyway, if I'm right we've been alone for about two weeks now, and I've started trying to move some things into my room. Some things it just hurts J more to be around every day. Sorry, M.
[Sure as fuck looks like you found a diary.]

[He had suspected, once, that the Overseers were former Champions. Now that suspision is coming back all the stronger. And if not that, they at least they weren't always just two.
He considers putting it down. Or giving it to Jamie- which he will, later. But for now:]
Seems I can not stop desecrating you, Bolton. Add one more to the pile that you can repay me for later...
[He flips to the last page]

Woke up this morning to find a new PIP on my arm, which is pretty alarming since the old one was just fine and you'd think J and I would have woken up if they decided to upgrade our hardware.
What are the Benefactors planning? I didn't even know they were still watching. Whatever it is, I have to do whatever it takes to protect J. He hasn't stopped shaking all day, and I don't blame him.
[It also appears that there's something written on the inside of the back cover.]

He checks the new writing]

"Produce an Ultimate Champion from this new group and you and the Champion Landscape Artist will be allowed to leave the ship and return to your home worlds, on the condition that the Champion Landscape Artist never be told of this arrangement. Breach this condition and the contract will be rendered null and void, resulting in both of you remaining on the station indefinitely. Best of luck, Champion Barista. -EP"
FUCK YOU
If it gets J home...
God I'm sorry.

[He hisses the letters under his breath, then tucks the book in his shirt for now.
He's guessing the trunk is locked, but he'll check.]

Jamie can't know about this, if at all possible...

...I won't breathe a word. Bolton had asked me to make sure Jamie made it through okay when...when we were up there. And just because Bolton is gone doesn't mean this might not still happen.
