Week 5

[It's been five weeks (since you looked at me) and with the deaths of Shadow and Rukia, the group that was initially 20 strong has dwindled down to ten. Ten people in the span of a month and, even with the Overseers seeming increase in empathy for the remaining Champions, there is no end in sight for the Champion Excellence Program.

And again at 7 am on Sunday the mechanical woman's voice chimes to awaken the remaining champions on Sunday morning. After the initial wake-up call there is no new floor announcement this week.

And again the Champions are awakened they have regained one new memory from the ones they've lost. Starting again on Sunday, as well, Jamie and Bolton will be back to their usual office hours in their usual locations.]

No, I know that this things exist where I'm from, but I've never used one.

Games are probably really different between worlds. They all look like fun, though.

There was never anything like them when I was young, so I can't say how fun they'd be. They look...Interesting?

What did you play as a kid, then? My dad taught me things like chess when I was younger.

We mostly made up our own games, ones that wouldn't get in trouble.

[Which wasn't many.]

Your parents must have been really strict.

They were, but they had to be.

It sounds complicated. The Doctor was talking about maybe having a game night for everybody!

In here? [She lets out a shaky laugh.] I'm afraid I wouldn't know were to start with these things.

At least they've got instructions, right? Everybody needs to start somewhere!

I'll read those then...[She still wasn't sure were to start.]

The board games must be the easiest thing to start with. After all, you don't generally play those for days on end!

And you play these things for days? [She's judging.]

Apparently! I've never actually tried.

Then why say- Nevermind! [She's just going to give some of the instructions a squint.]

... They seem surprisingly complicated...

This one seems okay! It's about trains and I guess you try to build the most tracks, or the longest.

Does that score you points then? I would have thought they'd base it on safety.

[Peering over.]

I don't think that's a gameplay element, but maybe it should be. It would definitely make it harder! Hmm... this one seems simple, it's just cards and colour matching. Though I don't know why the theme is pirates.

... Maybe it's just to get attention. They do that sometimes in advertisements. It makes it look more interesting than it is.

I've heard a few things from my husband, nothing more. [She shot that down quickly.]

It seemed like an interest of yours, though. I guess that would help if you're a housewife. What do you like to do?

In my free time? Mostly I read or talk with my husband.

A simple life... It does seem nice. I've thought about things like that, but really, I don't think I could.
