now that you are not around, my world fades to a dull, lifeless grey

[Rukia will come around to everyone's rooms later, with bunny-laden notes inviting them up to the diner. When they arrive, they'll find that one of the tables in the back has been covered over with a length of fabric from the sewing room and is serving as a makeshift altar, with rosemary and, for some reason, a bottle of whiskey sitting on it alongside cutesy drawings of all the dead thus far. (Just like last time, Seth gets a spiteful no symbol across his face.)

Yurika's there too, and she speaks first:]

Thank you. I... I'm sorry for suspecting some of you a little. I was worried no matter what happened, and I knew it would be hard, but you were all innocent. If anybody wants to talk, we can.

[After meeting with Ricky in the library, she wants to check on the pigeons before retiring to her room. It was a dumb, childish thing but those pigeons always made her smile. That voice however? Kurumi coughs loudly to catch her attention.

She quickly bows.]

I'm still sorry. I was just pulling at straws.

[Her eyes snap up, watching that bow before dropping again.]

No. If it was me in your shoes, I would have done the same thing. I don't think this is the last trial I'll be accused. [Her voice sounds rather hollow.] I shouldn't have let myself get so emotional.

[She barely lifts her head before straightening up.]

I was hoping that I was wrong. I really was. [She already lost one pink-haired older sister/mom type! She can't lose another one! Glancing around the garden she takes off her jacket then undoes the bandages on her arm. That's definitely an infected wound. And a human bite?]

It probably doesn't mean anything now but you told me something you didn't want to so I figured I should do the same.

I don't think everyone was. [Who knows how much people actually like her here.

She looks up enough to notice the wound. With a slight sens of panic she gets up walks over.]

... are you infected?

I don't want to believe that. [She tenses up but there's a brief nod. There's no hiding it now.]

We found a vaccine back home and I get some from the dumbwaiter every once in a while. It won't be a problem here. [The emphasis on the sentence is definitely on the 'here'.]

Togami would have sacrificed me. [At least she believes so.

She takes Kurumi's arm and checks it over carefully. That is still a nasty wound.] Are you making sure to keep it clean? The medicine won't help against infection unless it's designed to fight everything including your condition.

He'd sacrificed anyone. [She's not going to argue that because he would. Togami was an asshole who would throw anyone under the bus who wasn't him.

She winces just slightly.] I've been trying but it's hard. I've been washing it every day in the showers when everyone else is gone.

[He's such a dick. Still, Lightning doesn't wish death on anyone here.]

A bottle might be more effective since you can control the flow. I don't believe anyone has antibiotics, but maybe we'll get lucky.

[She doesn't either, honestly, but she's not going to say that he wouldn't.]

That probably would better. I tried with some cloth and the sink in my room but it didn't really work out. I don't what we could use as antseptic or anything like that.

There might be some plants in here that could help with that. Nothing in here looks familiar to me... we might be able to find a book.

That's actually not a bad idea! Though, dunno if they'd have something like that.

They have books all about space. Plants in space would be something they would need a book about. It makes sense.

I recognized a few of them. We had them back in the school but the others, I dunno. Rii-san would know more since she gardened. A book on plants would be helpful, though. If they wanted to keep them alive.

Then the next time I'm in the library I'll see if I can find something... unless Thomasin might know. She's from the past, right? They wouldn't have had modern medicines.
