He's gonna take a few detours then go straight to the kitchen. He said he'd help and he's going to help! ]

We're finally doing it?

We're finally doing it, yes! After Tuesday and Wednesday, I thought it might be nice to keep that sort of momentum going.

[ Everyone seems like they're doing so much better than they were at the weekend -- it's not perfect and it doesn't fill the gaping hole that is Mai and Mikaela but hopefully if they can keep everyone's spirits up then it might make things a bit easier. ]

Is there anything you want to see at the buffet?

Yakitori!! Or imagawayaki! The ones with custard!

Perfect! Having all the finger food be savory would get a bit boring, wouldn't it? Maybe I'll see if we've got some anko, too... we probably can't have taiyaki but some mochi wouldn't hurt.

[ maybe some chocolate too haha oh wait ]

That doesn't sound like too much, does it?

[shikosuki]

Not to me, no!

...Though maybe we should scale back on the Japanese food... there's a lot of foreigners in our group, huh?

Oh, you're probably right... everyone seemed to like the curry well enough but it's probably best to make sure no one's put off.

[ tap tap tapping her mouth in thought. ]

Maybe they'll be something that'll give us an idea in some of these cookbooks?

Hmm... maybe...

[ He pulls one down, "Romantic Snack Night", and starts flipping through ]

There's some good looking popcorn recipes, but that's probably inappropriate for a buffet...

[ Flipping some more... ]

Oh! [ He finds some sponge cake recipes ] Isn't this castella?

Oh, I think it might be...

[ she leans in a bit so she can peer at the page and skim the instructions. ]

The ingredients looks similar enough but I think the method's a bit different. Doesn't it look nice, though?

Yeah!

Maybe it'd be a good sweet alternative?

[serrata]

It sounds perfect. So, then! Imagawayaki and sponge cake for dessert and yakitori and... hm, something else for the finger food. I'm not sure what, though... I'd ask some of the other but I don't really want to ruin the surprise.

[ they know there's going to be a meal, of course, but she'd like to at least keep some level of playful suspense going. ]

I probably don't need to make too much, though... if we all get distracted enough by the game then I think there's going to be plenty of leftovers anyway.

[shikosuki]

[ He's nodding along in agreement as he keeps going through the book... then suddenly he stops. ]

Hey... Yuuri-san? Do we have wasabi around here?

[serrata]

I think so...? I'd have to double check my notes but I'm fairly sure there's some with the rest of the condiments.

[ ... giving him a side-eye. ]

[ He points to a deviled eggs recipe ]

Think we could mix wasabi in with a few of these for a little fun?

Please. It's not like we're using the ghost pepper vodka.

--Oh, by the way. Did you find a use for that stuff after all? I told Nishitani that I might take the rest when we get out of here.
